    I hate CON post 1:18

Don't 'boohoo' me about 'easy mode' or MP management. All the people that make these complaints are people who don't even play CON, and thus have no idea what they're talking about.

In FFXI I had excellent MP management. As a RDM I could do full refresh, regen, haste, protect, shell rounds; DOTs; debuffs; backup-heal; etc with absolutely zero downtime. And FFXI never had an 'easy mode'.

In XIV my CON has no option but to be a white mage. I have NO chance to use ANY debuffs or DOTs, and even throwing buffs is risky, because my MP pool can barely handle keeping the party cured. Even then, I must continually take downtime to refresh my MP.

Where I once had 3 (or 5 if you add THM's), I now have 5-7 cure spells. For any decent party I typically carried Cure 2 and 3... Now to be affective and not waste MP, I MUST have Cure 2 and 3 and Curaga 1 and 2, which removes important tactical abilities I had been using...but I guess that's okay, because I wont have the MP to spare for them anymore anyway.
In addition, this many different cure's (who's icons all look nearly identical--adding to the confusion) and pt members running to and fro, its difficult to even decide WHICH spell to use when.

Making a class horribly broken =/= a challenge.

Finding climbing the molehill unchallenging? Want to climb a mountain?? TOO BAD! You still get the molehill, but to make it "challenging" we're going to break your legs!

CON used to be my favorite class, and thus far has been the only one I even bothered to get to 50.
Now I absolutely hate it and will be abandoning it ASAP for some melee class 'cause I don't dare touch THM anymore either.

You DoW's can tell us DoM's to stop whining all you want... But good luck with your parties when there's no more mages running around.

Absolutely agreed. It's terrible. Cure isn't even worth using anymore. If you use it, you're screwed, if you don't use it, you're screwed.

Woah there, Nelly. Slow down and remember something.

    1.18 is the "foundation" patch.

On this foundation, Conjurer is designed as a solo-class. Right now, you are partying as if you were soloing - each player should still be looking out for themselves somewhat. That means if your fellow Diciples of War are not throwing up the occasional Sacrifice spell to keep themselves going, it's their fault if you - a solo caster - can't keep them alive on your own.

Now with the foundations laid, party-based classes will be next up for implementation. Then you can become an actual white mage rather than play a conjurer pretending to be a white mage.

Got that right, if I see red HP, a Second Wind II and/or Sacrifice II is soon to follow. No time waiting on the healers, tank is higher on their priorities list X)

it is true that this is just the beginning and the foundation only. But some things can be applied to RL circumstances too.

    If a construction company makes the 'foundation' of a new building out of brittle steel beams....you ask yourself this;
    - will it get better?
    - if it does get better will there be any side effects due to that crappy 'foundation'?

But even if this is a "foundation patch", why jack up the cost of cures when you haven't yet changed stats to be more effective as they said they were going to? We've basically only gotten half of the deal - the crap end that is, with nothing to make up for it in the mean time.

They should have held off on the MP tweaks or scaled them down a bit first, then cranked up the costs after tweaking our stats to be more powerful. As it is they've just made mage life unnecessarily difficult. It's just irresponsible to employ nerfs first without the corresponding tweaks to balance said nerfs also in place.

When gas prices went up people started riding the bus or biking more. Well, good luck finding a healer for your parties

Next time you die, remember it was due to poor MP management and because apparently we complain/whine a lot. So, make sure not to b***h at us about it =)

Hello! Game-fundamentals overhaul. Can't all happen at once. I at least am seeing some direction from these tweaks.

Remind your gladiator party members that they, as solo-classes, have access to mage-abilities too and should pull their weight rather than just pretenting to be a boring tank.

    This analogy seems pretty accurate.

I am a rank 50 CON (my thm is currently 39) Did rank 45 raid today and I did not have huge MP issues nor did the other mages. Oh and I wasn't forced to only be a 'Healer' I nuked some too in the dungeon when MP was good. We communicated, used MP conserving and gaining abilities, and played our jobs.

It's a new change, and yes, if you don't watch your MP you can get into trouble SUPER-quick. But really, you shouldn't be able to heal a whole party for the same cost as healing one player. That was a huge problem with the game mechanics. Just like being able to AOE nuke everything is/was a huge problem. Keep in mind, the way parties play in general needs to change. For instance, Tanks and DD's can't just charge in expecting buffs to happen when mob is already engaged and everyone should attempt to equip some version of raise (it's only rank 14 for a reason). And crowd control is a MUST. It will just take us all some time to learn how to play with new MP pool. I understand people being uncomfortable with changes, but these really are for the better AND make way more sense in the long haul.

Also, so far I've had no trouble soloing leves as either my CON or my THM. When people say they took away the 'solo-abilities for Mages' do you mean "We can't kill mobs like the Dodore by ourselves anymore" or "Dude, that normal mob that other classes can handle solo just ate me?" Because if it was the former, yeah, you were never supposed to be able to do that...they fixed a loophole/game development error...if it's the latter, you either need to adjust your stats, your spells or admit you just don't know how to play your job that well.
