In the request I am to supply a Sanguine Scepter w 2 Savage Might Materia III melded to it. Which was done when taken back to Gerolt the mission '!' is still red and doesn't accept the Scepter. Any clues as to why or do I have to chuck it and start again. The Scepter properties shows Materia Savage Might Materia III Determination +4

Don't worry about the +4 Det stat that's normal.
Just make sure you don't have the weapon equipped, since you'll be handing the weapon over to him, (you'll need something else to equip on your BLM for the time being to continue with the quests)

It's in my arms chest and still doesn't key as acceptable.

It does show BOTH materia, right? So it's showing one Savage Might III with +4 and another identical one with +0?

Try making sure it is in your inventory and not the armoury... my relic quests liked being specific about that too.

Why the .. is in lore, not support?

This is in the wrong forum, but Whatever.

1.) Are you on Black Mage when you try to hand it in? If you're not on the right class, it will be red. It will be gold on BLM even if the rod doesn't have the right Materia.
2.) It's not your only available BLM weapon is it? You can hand it in from armory chest, but you must have at least 1 other BLM weapon available to hand in another.
3.) Make sure that 2 of the Materia are bond to the weapon.

Check your journal and make sure its right one?

In case you get wrong quest, example you talk with Gerolt as Paladin so its become Paladin relic quest and you thought you are doing BLM

If so, you just cancel it and start with your BLM
