How is this not true of every other race? None of the figures the op suggests are Racial leaders, they are leaders of nations who happen to be a particular race, having a Miqote who has risen to rule something important would not be out of the question.

I can't remember her name, but back when version 1.0 was still in development, there was a quote on the old FFXIV website in the citystate page for Limsa Lominsa, and it suggested that at least one previous Admiral of Limsa Lominsa had been in fact a female miqo'te, judging by the name (she was a Seeker of the Sun in fact). The quote has long since disappeared, but it was still shown on the FF Wiki if I remember rightly. I'll copy and paste it here.

EDIT: I was right. Her name was N'bolata Tyata and she was the 77th Admiral of Limsa Lominsa (which makes me wonder what number the line of Admirals is up to now with Merlwyb at the helm), found here:

Due to the nature of Miqo'te culture, its impossible to have a single leader as representative of the race. Miqo'te are split up into clans and those clans into smaller tribes led by a matriarch (moon) or patriarch (sun) and in the case of sunseekers the role of nunh may change constantly if there are challengers.

I hope that we get to run into more Miqot'e tribes in the future.
Personally, I'd love to see a Keepers of the Moon tribe next~

Really though, we kitties are free and independent, we don't like to be bogged down with responsibilities of leadership thrust upon us. That's why we're adventurers not politicians. Leave the back-stabbing and power-grabbing for lesser races, we kitties have better things to do.

Also on a side-note, a Nuhn status does not necessarily mean an "alpha" in a Seeker tribe. It simply means a breeding male. There can be more than 1 nuhn in any given tribe. Now the alpha (leader) is most likely going to be a nuhn, not because he IS a nuhn, but because a leader would exhibit all the same traits that would made him a nuhn anyway.
