What's with the water?

When you're on the boat, anyone notice how in the distance there is a line in the water where all of a sudden all the water is moving in the complete opposite direction? Ya know what, that's it... I quit.

For me, and for several others players, there was a weird black glitchy triangle and strange flashes in the water out in the distance. Not sure if that still exists for patch 1.18; maybe they literally patched it. >_>;
