Noob questions that I need help with

Hey, my name is cillen and recently I've purchased and downloaded FFxiv. I lowered the game graphics on my laptop on the graphics settings. Since the game is still freshly downloaded will it start to speed up as I play? It takes forever to do quests because I lag so much even with lowered graphics. Can someone tell me that it will speed up eventually? I'm not a huge fan of lag.

Erm. I suppose the first thing to check would be the specs on your laptop. Cpu, amount of ram, and type of graphics card.

No, it will not "speed up". What kind of game is that? Considering that you’re on a server like Adamantoise, you should not expect any problems from it. This is most likely a hardware issue, before we can do anything to help you, what are the specs of your laptop? What type of internet connection do you have?

Or maybe just get a PS4 to play on. Only say this because you could pay a lot more for a gaming PC and it still lags.
