Yes Please!! I want to be able to easily seek party and form a party. Currently this sucks...
Yup yup - hear hear. I agree 100% with this entire thread.
How ARE people partying right now anyways? Is this happening at all? The world of Eorzea is so silent between users. I never hear shouts or see people talking or anything. Is there a linkshell that people meet up in and party through? I'm on Karnak and I'm a lonely adventurer. ;_;

this is one of the things that 14 most needs
I loved the Search function in FFXI and although it could have been a adjusted a little it worked very well. Why FFXIV didn't come with any search command out of the box is beyond comprehension. Its mostly like the dev team for FFXIV had never played another FF game and had no idea what one looked like.
I too would like a to see a /SEA <target> command. Very effective in finding lost things.
The full party search window helped to show everyone in the area and any one who had a party seak flag. Made asking them to join very easy. Of course there was always some one who ignored the flags and asked every one win a certain level and class if they wanted to join. Those players were irritatingly ignorant annoyances. There's a reason why There's a a flag! Use it and stop annoying every one else!!
It actually did - we had the /sea all command but it was taken back out of the game within a month. Best guess back then was that it was because they wanted to hide the population.
It does need to come back in order for people to build meaningful parties. I looked at the interface for trying to group and within a few minutes was disgusted with it. It's too complicated and there are more clicks than needed. No one is going to use it.
Yes, please! A /sea command and simpler party search should be a big priority. It negatively effects party play which in turn has caused people to quit the game.
/sea all "class"
/sea all "levels"
We really need a simple one click party flag also.
I think a big problem is that the people making a party have to put up a flag to get people to join them. People looking for a party have to go through the menu to see if anyone is looking for their particular class. It needs to be the other way around.
Someone who is making a party needs to be able to search for those that are seeking a party. It's so much simpler and much much faster that way. /sea all commands are also necessary so people can search and ask those that aren't seeking at the time. In FFXI we did this all the time to find a specific type of class we were missing. If we had a healer, DPS, but no tank we could just ask people to join us and typically we'd find someone.
Anything is almost certainly better then the current party match system. Easy way to shun off incoming users is making them feel worthless.
seeing all the changes happening, it's going to die out just as fast if this isn't improved upon.
Agreed. System either is still useless or I didn't really get it... either way something is off.
I understand that some poeple don't like to know this. But I for example would like to have the ability to check for the amount of online people. I don't need it integrated into /sea. I even would prefer it to be another command. Makes no use to see those number everytime I search for PT members. If a "/sea all" command is added then PLEASE DO NOT show the current amount of online players like Final Fantasy XI did. Nothing was more depressing in FFXI than being able to see the current server population every time I needed to use "/sea all" and watching it get smaller and smaller as the game got older.
Those sorts of details aren't relevant to players and personally I don't want to be able to know.
