what i mean is a character (mi'qote) which is really 'significant' in the main story line.. yupp.. there are Guild leaders who are miqote.. but they are not really significant in the main story.. it's not about racial leader.. but someone who's really important in the main story line and has influence..

actually that is only half true. That only really applies to the Seekers of the Sun. The Keepers of the Moon operate on a Matriarchal System and as such do not have a title of any sort resembling Nunh that can be applied to their Alpha Females.

See any similarities? They are both Pope's, they both rule a nation (Coerthas in the game, Vatican City and the Catholic Church in real life). And they both sit on thrones made of Gold. For point of reference, for many centuries the real world Pope was also the Chief Sovereign of the Holy Roman Empire.

EDIT: At the Mods, I am not discussing Religion, so much as commenting on the similarities between the real world Pope, and the Pope of Coerthas from a purely "Oh look, they both sit on thrones" and a historical standpoint.

Anyone who played through the level 30-40 Main Scenario is aware that there is an inquisitorial department in Ishgard. Ishgard and Coerthas as a whole are heavily modeled after Europe during the 1300's to 1500's Common Era, so that is hardly surprising at all.

Due to the nature of Miqo'te culture, its impossible to have a single leader as representative of the race. Miqo'te are split up into clans and those clans into smaller tribes led by a matriarch (moon) or patriarch (sun) and in the case of sunseekers the role of nunh may change constantly if there are challengers.

How is this not true of every other race? None of the figures the op suggests are Racial leaders, they are leaders of nations who happen to be a particular race, having a Miqote who has risen to rule something important would not be out of the question.
