    Dont understand putting first person shooter mechanics into mmo's

    The idea with these new warfronts seems like a bland mix of worn out mechanics that other games (which shall not be mentioned) have been steam rolling on its players for the last 7-8 years. Having your gear automatically lined up to not be weaker or stronger I understand is suppose to allow new people to not be so easily destroyed but its sort of destroying what makes an mmo an mmo. Ok so you have conquered the strongest of dragons and helped saved Eorzea from Bahamut and you shall have the horn of Bahamut but you cannot use its power because you must magically be weakened for the sake of fairness against your opponents who are not as omnipotent as you are.

    Yes I even understand wanting to bring pvp into the ff franchise but as the other game (which shall not be mentioned) why are you mimicing it almost to a T when we play FF because of the charm that Final Fantasy brings. The pvp aspect of the other games being mimiced was to trully try to tap into the E-sport and First person shooter crowd to bring them on board with the mmo brand but please thats not the beloved FF of Square Soft I use to know.

    You can still keep with the same full try and try successful mmo archetype but try new ideas in small bursts to see what resonates most with the player base. Not mimic a imo inferior brand of mmo or appease of a crowd of gamers that will never be a true FF fan like the majority of us do.

    If I speak against those who oppose my view I am sorry for appearing to speak for you as well. I just wish they would redo how they have pvp on Eorzea and not make it a wow copy cat. I guess I did let the name slip in the end.

    I'm really not sure what you're talking about, only that "wow copy cat" makes no sense when it comes to Frontlines. Many MMOs have done objective-based matches, and it's something that is done across a few genres. Otherwise I seriously don't understand what you're trying to say.

    As someone who has been working hard to obtain PvP gear in the arena, even I understand why they need to discount Morale and PvP gear from Frontlines at first. It'd be no fun if all the rank 30-40 players just obliterated everyone right from the start. People need a chance to get into PvP. They can make PvP gear work in frontlines later on.

    It is DotA style and i like it...
    In newest trailer you have seen not only capture the flag, but also some interesting tower defence mechanics...
    If they manage to have them in one big arena - DotA style - then it becomes very interesting and just the start conditions are for both teams the same!
    But i share your fear, it may end in everyone trying to capture always the same because its the best startup strategy...

    It is not ment to be pvp, it is an instanced Realm vs Realm - DotA style!
    I just wonder if we have enough players, 24 is not much, therefore the map would be very small and if that is then "fun", i wonder...
    It may end in Zerging because its the only way to overpower the enemy!

    I think they should break it up between ranked where you need a certain level of Morale to play and unranked where it's synced.

    What I am trying to state is front lines and all instanced based battles really feels like it does not belong to the general MMO franchise. It seems more of an after thought meant to try to attract people from the first person shooter crowds. It is like mixing oil and water. It just seems like it will not work. I do not think it has worked very well on wow as the atmosphere that brings with it is pure toxcicty. And I do miss some of the old UO pvp days. X-bow of vanquishing with a precast ebolt was a nasty combo when i was on its receiving end. Taming 20 dragons and dropping them in front of a rival's guild tower was pure ownage.

    I havnt ment total, i ment your group...
    If you try to use the playernumber as "creeps" for DotA style then you dont have enough players with 24...
    If you use the players as "Heroes" then 24 is a bit much when adding creeps...
