So I ran AK today as High Duty roulette.
I thought, Oh Yiss, this will be fast, no Pharos or Hauke HM.
So it goes on and on, and the mobs die REALLY slow. First I thought it might be because of the obviously new to AK BLM in full AF and no Relic yet, but I was wrong. It was the other BLM with full Mytho gear and Relic (no zenith but thats not the point)
After the first few pulls, the whm asks the blm why he does what he is doing, meaning a question that can be reformed to "why aren't you using your skills in a way to maximize your damage output and mana regeneration"
That blm got hyper defensive, the more the dungeon progressed the lower got his damage output.
The whm explained the "best" rotation to which the guy said "I play the way I want"
And would not take any friendly advice given, going so far that he started insulting and trying to wipe us by messing with mobs.
The other BLM, tried to do his best, to improve himself, it was his very first level 50 dungeon (he said so himself) and asked several times if he does it right and was friendly.
--------
Now, while I too play the way I want, I don't ignore advises that make the game progression better.
I don't bark into someones face if he reminds me to do something or wants to help me to improve the role I am playing. Even if someone is rude with his explanations, I keep my cool and if it isn't utter goobbue crap I also will listen to these fellows.
Play all the way you want.
But if your play style just is a hindrance to everyone because you don't use that skill because you "don't like blizzard" or think "thunder is bad" or "shield oath is for noobs" , you should consider thinking over if you really want to play that class you are playing when doing it with random strangers.
Others too want to enjoy the game you know?
