    Healer satcking in raids (WHM x2 vs WHM + SCH)

    Hello friends:

    I have had some friends recently come back to ARR and are looking to get back into raiding. I just recently got this character up to 50. My other character has both SCH and WHM at 50 and to be honest I prefer WHM a great deal more. The group I am with already has a WHM so I would be the second. They have asked if leveling up SCH again is something I would be ok with doing, truthfully it would be more for the team then my own enjoyment. I have never raided WHM 2x though I know it is more than ok. What can I tell them to let them know WHM x2 is more than viable? SCH has such an attrative spell-set I just don't know how to make a good point beyond "I just don't want to".

    **These are long time gaming friends so either way they will be understanding, they just really feel a SCH + WHM is the best route, I want to help curve that one sightedness**

    Double WHM is viable but they're right in that its a strictly worse option. I think you're just gonna have to bite the bullet on this one.

    The other healer won't level scholar? I always tell people to play the class they enjoy the most but for a raid group having a scholar has become standard since first coil. The damage mitigation helps with threat by reducing the need to heal. Being able to succor/adlo/sacred soil the raid for big incoming damage can prevent a wipe. Our scholar makes rafflesia's spit damage with full stacks laughable. Tank has no cd for the next death sentence? No problem, because your scholar just landed a crit adlo. It's doable but there's going to be instances you struggle hard in where having a scholar would really help the group.

    Plus your limit break will build slower with less variety in classes and your aren't making up for it in raw dps.

    Depends on how far you plan to raid.

    With 2 WHM instead of WHM+SCH:
    T1-T4 -> No problem
    T5 -> Used to be impossible, but not anymore due to ilvl90+ and echo; slightly harder
    T6-T7 -> No problem
    T8 -> Whole raid needs to be very geared to meet a greatly increased HP requirement to survive mechanics without a SCH, should be made easier with the upcoming ilvl90 crafted accessories; also, healers would need better than usual required reflexes to clear
    T9 -> Way harder, but still doable

    The different between sch and whm is that an sch while lower in max HP heals (whm has higher heals) a sch can refill their mp tank better and can chain heals, unlike whm where you have to predict the damage and know how to manage the pool or hope there's a bed for refills. Also sch has a pet that comes with extra healing buffs and heals too. It helps ease the pressure on the mp pool for healers since its heals are tied to your stats.... So sch&whm combo is really 3 healers in 1. Also sch if needed can do better DPs than a whm when its needed to push a fight since its all dots 1 cast and then back to heals.

    I might be a Lil biased here since I'm a sch heals for end game, but every time I've tried to do whm heals I tap my mp pool. Where as with sch I don't really worry about it.

    The only thing I can say in favor of whm is double regens but Eos has a regen too. See if your other whm will do sch over you if you arnt comfy.

    If you don't enjoy SCH then I wouldn't level it just to help with raids.

    Ideally both healers can = do either role, and one that can dps too.
    But if your goal is to beat content with as little effort as possible you can just wait for echo buff.

    You can do WHM/WHM or SCH/SCH, but WHM/SCH is the best option. They're roughly equal in ability but have different toolkits that complement one another. There's no replacement for certain spells like lustrate.

    Playing what you want to play is a perfectly acceptable point, and if you're grouping with friends that should be fine, just be aware that you're handicapping yourself some.

    can't go wrong with WHM SCH combo, its like having PLD and WAR combo, it's the best combination out there. WHM x 2 can probably still work but it helps to be multi class and flexible.

    to be honest, my healers actually find placing SCH much more fun, both of them have both class leveled and they would rotate who play what.

    Going to give some advice, play the class you are best at and are most comfortable with. Its easier and more useful to have a SCH/WHM combo rathrr than stacking, best of both worlds. Of course if you want to be profficient in both you can try to learn to use each to the best of your ability-

    HOWEVER, you also must realize for a static you will most likely have to give one up for the other in situations such as this. It's a little bit more difficult in some groups to discern who gets what loot. Not all, but some.

    Play a class you have fun with. If you really want to experiment and get more practice in, try SCH out some. It is a great class to alot of people but if it isn't for you don't be discouraged. Worst case scenario you don't get in that group? All good as long as you are having fun. Don't stress too much over it.
