Glowing effects on "upgraded" gear.

I think this looks ugly and really distracts from the beauty of the gear the devs make and it's becoming far too over-used, especially now seeing the new gear in the 2.3 preview. Could a community rep ask the design lead if he would consider using this effect less and possibly use an alternate color scheme or altered model instead of a glow effect in the future?

I know people don't like the "I" word but it breaks my immersion greatly to see that everything is having this glow and I shouldn't have to use the glamour system to enjoy new armor.

Why not? It's a personal opinion and they enabled a system for those who personally don't like the look of something (or prefer another look), why not use the tools enabled for that?

Well think of the impracticality of that. (example) I rather like the Ifrit weapon models and will be happy to obtain the new version and use them if they're good. But now I have to go out and obtain a second Ifrit weapon to glamour over it because of this over-used glow effect? No thank you. Most weapons end game weapons have this glow effect and it's getting out of hand in my opinion. Everything doesn't need a glow.

I dont like all those glowing clouds around weapons, too. I like it if the weapon has glowing marks on it like the alagan gear or the ifrit weapons. but glowing clouds that cover the howle weapon are ugly.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The glowing cloud is hideous, distracting, immersion breaking and once 2.3 comes out will completely outnumber gear without this effect.

"Hey Devs, this AmyNeudaiz person on the forums doesn't like the glow so instead of adding more cosmetic options for players, please just stop making glow effects altogether."

I'm sorry but I actually laughed reading that. First, it's crafted so we know off the bat that the gear won't be top of the line. Secondly, are you seriously asking them to not add this just because you don't like it? You're taste is completely subjective just like everyone else's. For everything they add, one group will love it and another will hate it.

Honestly as soon as I saw the glow I knew I would see a thread but your post came off as extremely selfish.
