Part II - new job prospects

    Part II

Ok so alot of people wanting some jobs from FFXI brought into FFXIV.

Alot of people on the fence, I'm one of them. I played FFXI for over 6 years and loved it. There are of similarities are there but you have to remember this is a new FF, not FFXI-2.

This Said I'm happy Ninja is going to be making it in and this said I can see DRK probably making it in too.

    But...

What I would loooooooove to see here, and two jobs that would fit perfectly into the game, would be....

    #drum role#

    Beastmaster.... And.... Blue Mage

Enough said... Solo powerful jobs, within a solo levelling game. S-E bring em in pleease!

    You thoughts...?

All new jobs take a long time to think up, create, balance, style, design, animate, effect, implement in lore, implement in story.

Who knows what SE already has laying around or is working on. Only SE themselves can tell you. The only thing we can tell you is that 1.0 had a lot of .dats with diffirent classes, jobs, equipment and abilities that were either removed for 2.0 or not implemented entirely.

They'll throw in what they want to throw in.

Just keep in mind that thanks to the whole archaic (and thus terrible) Armoury system they refuse to throw away, side-branching or diffirent weapons are made impossible already for existing classes since; Base classes need to be able to equip those new weapons as well, on top of 90% of the abilities being exactly the same.

If they want to make a new job, or several, they're going to have to make additional classs to go with it as well. Despite those going completely irrelevant once the job is unlocked.

    It's basicly twice the work.

Also, unless they allow you to enter dungeons by yourself (uncapped or with diffirent opponents) there is absolutely no point to a beastmaster or similar "soloist" job, since the overworld (non-dungeons) are filled with nothing even remotely exciting.

Agreed, other than some group Fates, there's nothing much in the world that a Beastmaster would be useful for outside of dungeons as their isn't much ... Yet.

The job could be used in groups, but would take some tweaking of course.

I guess that's up to Square Enix as you say. They will input what they want. This is just my suggestions I'd like to see a Beastmaster, but that's just me I guess >.>

Fair point, but there were advantages of having beast masters in a group. They made BST before. However to balance the role and make it seems worthwhile to acquire, maybe they should (if they decide to make it) call it Trainer, like in the good old days... Beastmaster just makes me think of a heavily armoured dude with a horned helmet and a pet crab lol trainer makes me think of a cloaked person with a knife and a bird on their arm.... Don't know why... I must be strange...

Anyway, BST was always a heavy(ish) hitter with a pet... I'd say to balance the role, make it more of a supporting role, possibly with calming/mob debuffs/player buffs against certain mob types and more controls over pets than attack/don't/ special....

That's my thoughts. Changing BST to Trainer. More support role and advanced pet mechanics... I got more scribbled down here anyway.
