    FF14 General Feedback

Hello! I didn't see a game feedback forum, so I decided to post this here.

I've played a lot during 2.0, and came back during 2.2. I've been enjoying a lot of the changes that were made, but there are some things that I think do need to be fixed for the better enjoyment of the player. In this I'll point out those issues, and offer up my suggestions on how they could be handled, if anything as a springboard for other ideas.

Mythology Grinding, the Community and Content Value
I do understand the reason for limiting the rate in which mythology (and soldiery) currency is given to players. They give access to great pieces of equipment, so you don't want players to just get those easily without some form of work. I think keeping soldiery as it is is fine, but mythology could see an increase in ways to attain them. The reason being is that many people have multiple lv50 characters. I only have 3 combat classes left to get to 50. I could grind out the early coils, but it would be nice if more content gave mythology. For instance, high level FATEs could give some amount of mythology that compares to the experience points that would have been gained. This will help facilitate players to gear up other classes so they can do more content with those classes. It doesn't need to be a ton per FATE, but it does give more value to FATEs. Even level capped ones could give something, even if it's a tiny bit.

Another reason is that the main way people get mythology fast is through speedrunning dungeons (currently that dungeon being Brayflox HM with the first 2 bosses). Though you can get a lot quickly, the community tends to favour the following setup: Tank, WHM, BRD, BLM. SCH and a second BLM is also considered in the setup, but the aforementioned setup is the most common sought group that I have seen. What of the other classes? They simply don't have the option to speedrun these dungeons as they don't meet the established setup for speedrunning. Giving more options allows these other classes to get myth quickly, even if they don't meet that criteria.

Also, I would love to see lv50 levequests. These can provide some amount of mythology (5-10) on completion. This will lead people back to leves as there is value in it. Maybe have them drop crafting material on occasion.

Lastly, outside of the roulette bonus, having myth be awarded on doing a low level dungeon for a level 50 character would also be great.

The above does one thing primarily: it gives value to the old content for end-game players. Old players no longer wants to do this content because it doesn't really carry any value to them. To really have players return to it, make it very much worth their while.

    Atma Adjustments
I was really happy when I got my first relic, and when I made it a Zenith. The reason is because I overcame a set of difficult trials. I overcame Titan HM, which was one of the hardest fights of the time outside of turns 1 through 5. The mythology grind then wasn't terrible, as I was working on said trials while saving up for my +1. But the feeling of accomplishment came from overcoming trials.

With Atma, you are awarding perseverance, but only at the sake of a player's luck. Some players have gone weeks without getting enough Atma, or even a single Atma. I think a slightly better way to handle this is a gradual increase to drop rate for players are being persistent in their FATE grinding. The concept would be as follows:
    • For every 3-5 FATEs completed, the drop rate increases by 0.1%.
    • This continues until a max of 10-15%.
    • If the player leaves the zone for ANY reason (DF and other ways of leaving a zone) their drop rate is reduced back to 5%.

This rewards players for their continuing attempts at getting Atma. If this was couple with the mythology rewarded in FATEs mentioned above, the grind becomes far more tolerable and maybe even enjoyable, as you feel like you are actually progressing forward with things.

It would be great if Atma would drop for someone if they are simply equipped with an iLvl 90 weapon. This will allow those to use other classes who may have gotten their weekly primal extreme weapons to work on the quests, possibly without having to switch jobs if they haven't gotten the Zenith for that class yet.

Another adjustment has to do with the spawn times of Atma book FATEs. Some of them take hours to spawn. This is hours of waiting, where the player actually wants to be playing the game. One could say "You can do the other FATEs", but that also has a problem: if you are on the other side of the map when the FATE spawns, if others are there already, they likely won't hold it for you. Therefore you could miss the chance to do the FATE simply because you are trying to actually play the game. Thus you are there for hours just simply standing and waiting for something that might pop. This wasn't exactly the prime type of content in FF11, and is essentially existing as just padding. We want to do something versus standing around waiting. Therefore, the FATE should spawn much more often, or some other mechanic must take its place to allow the player to actually play.

    DPS Duty Finder Wait Time
Though the team is already looking into this, I thought I would throw my suggestion out there. If there are an abundance of DPS in DF looking for a dungeon, one of the things that could happen is after a set time 3-4 DPS are placed into a group. They are then given an enhanced HP regen and/or a healing NPC which simply follows the group. Hate/threat/enmity management could then be round robin. This would make each pull like a DPS race. A tanking NPC would not be terribly ideal, since if it decides to pull a boss before the players are ready, they are likely to wipe. But I think a DPS race kind of thing could be fun. Other content that would be similar could be good.

This is the feedback I have for now. I do enjoy the game, but would love to see adjustments similar to this.

    Thanks for reading!
