Just because it takes you 1.8k to craft it does not mean it does for everyone, think of that aspect for a minute. If he gathers all the mats himself and is happy making the 1.5k profit for each one he sells then there is nothing wrong nor malicious with what he is doing.

If you aren't happy with it either stop making and selling it or level up gathering and get the mats yourself, its simple really.

The market's a big place. Even within a single category (food, in this case), it's unlikely that he's messing with ALL of the prices. For the time being, tap the markets he's not bothering with. If he's selling at a loss, he'll eventually believe that he's "scared" everyone else away and then raise his prices. Watch for that, and when it happens move back in.

If he does farm/gather his own ingredients, though, prices may stay where they are. If that's the case, then you'll either need to abandon the market completely, or farm/gather your own ingredients as well. That's a possibility that ANY crafter who doesn't level DoL jobs always has to worry about - that their market will become dominated by someone who can sell cheap because they don't buy the ingredients. If you haven't leveled DoL because you don't have the spare time - well, MMOs have ALWAYS favored players with more free time. That's just a fact of life.

Wait, that's the price difference? >.> I was expecting like 50% lower than the going rate. lol.
Yeah, those who gather all the mats themselves are the ones who make the most profit.

Its a strategic move to corner a market. He only needs to farm 1 component to sell competitively against those who buy all their components.

Its one of the same methods used in an initial listing fee system to force people to sell at a loss with a double initial listing fee penalty, however, its not as effective because we don't have that system, which is good for you.

My advice is to figure out if hes buying any of the necessary items to craft his products. Corner those markets and you will have controlled his production. The market in this system is highly competitive. Be prepared to play dirty~

    this is beautiful.

Especially if he's making a profit and plans to reinvest that profit on doing it again.

Taking control over one or more items in markets is one of the most funniest "mini-games" in MMO's imo, done it here with few dyes and some random items aswell. Also putting your item in wishlist you are trying to sell creates illusion of demand and i noticed that peoples started to buy those items more than normally, only downside is that others will start to flood said item and prices will/might go down rapidly.

What's the point in doing this when selling the raw materials you gathered makes more profit then crafting them, tho? That's what bothers me, here. Eitherway, it's a lose-lose.
