    Six man medium parties

    I and others in my FC believe that it would be a good idea to have medium parties. The idea would be to allow a party of six to be created to enter hard mode dungeons, the difficulty of the dungeon would scale to six man parties and allow for those one or two people to join in that might be left out.

    As everyone knows healers and tanks are short supply while DPS is readily available. By giving the ability to have six man parties and scallable difficulty it would be easier for those that wait 30-45 minutes for DF to join in on the duty parties that the FC puts together when there are the one or two DPS left out because they didn't respond fast enough.

    Thoughts or suggestions?

    1. Wouldnt dungeons become way too easy like this?

    2. This wont decrease queue times, just make them longer since you have to search for two extra people. I'm actually always waiting on DPS roles to join :/

    3. Wouldnt this give people with pre-formed parties even MORE reason to only use the best DPS roles and exclude everyone else, since surely the adjustments needed to the dungeons require nothing short of maximum dps?

    Your idea could only realistically work if;

    - We had actual support classes, which we do not.

    or

    - The extra 2 slots were free for all, and anyone (tanks and healers included) who cant currently be fit into a party can be put into them.
    However this would cause undesirable situations where you have two tanks two healers and two dps for a dungeon that doesnt require much of it to start with.

    or

    - SE comes up with new dungeons entirely designed around 6-man groups with specific setups that they change depending on the dungeon. However, this would quickly make things overly elaborate for the sake of not having someone be irrelevant. For example, you'd have to design fights around having two tanks, or 4 DPS or an extra healer. This would quickly make things more anoying than nessesairy.

    If history teaches us anything, people take the road of least resistance.

    People would leave if;
    - The party setup wasnt to their liking (i.e. not 4 DPS at all times)
    - The mechanics of the new dungeon are anoying (just look at Pharaos Sirius. SE put a lot of work into it, the dungeon was too anoying for the rewards, and no one played it fully since)
    - The queue times are too long for it.
    - There's too much competition for the drops they themselves are after.
    - The adjustments needed to make a 6-man group viable quickly make the dungeon too hard to bother with.

    Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i dont see a single thing that would make this more desirable than the current 4-man groups we have.

    I actually like this idea but they may have to introduce new content specifically designed for 6 people. Maybe something similar to guildhests but not as demanding as full dungeons/raids. The quest system from White Knight Chronicles 2 comes to mind...
