if you're as low as it says your main class is then 2 ranks in 2 hours is actually a LOT lower than before. My pug got about 4 ranks in that time around your rank in less than 2 hours pre patch =/.I get less SP from leves, this is true.
However I also haven't gotten used to the CON/THM changes yet and haven't partied up for them either. There's also more ways to gain SP for DoW/DoM now (Dungeons and quests) and I've noticed better SP gains off mob grinding (150-300 per mob as opposed to 120 every mob prior to the patch).
I don't think it's too bad. I ranked up twice today in the 2 hours I played by doing leves and grinding :3

Not at launch it sure as hell didn't. I would know seeing as how I haven't leveled mine since about a month after launch. Maybe during alpha with 999SP per kill turned on.

Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh

The difference is, back then progress was the only thing that kept people playing, because it was the only thing to do. Now the actually managed to get some sort of content into the game that is really fun and keeps you busy over the time you progress "slower". It's still not where it should be, but it's getting there.
View this from the perspective of a person just starting the game. He might rank slower than we used to, but he will also have NOTHING done of what we did right away when it got implemented, so there is a lot more for new players to draw from, than what we draw from.
Besides grinding on the open field is still viable and didn't get changed at all in the patch. Raptors give the same SP, now all people need to do is find equivalent camps for all Rank ranges.
And we all know that's just a matter of time before it happens and it getting spread. Just give it some time to grow and it will be ok

Well put TirionCrey.
I think everyone just needs to smoke a bowl, crack a beer, relax and have a little fun. It's not like we are in a race to get Sky access or anything. The game is still free after all.
I don't think too many beginners to this game will stick around when they realize all they can do is grind and 2 dungeons. The difference is, back then progress was the only thing that kept people playing, because it was the only thing to do. No I am saying the first update should have prioritized content over combat updates. The combat wasn't THAT bad, but the content was non-existent.
Most people would have hated the content if it was done for the old combat system. Everyone would've cleared that R45 dungeon by now because you could just heal spam all day every day and never go out of mana or draw hate. There are things that need to be ironed out with this new system but I do believe it was critical to accompany or precede the content.

The game is really the same except progression greatly slowed down. The new content will get old very, very fast if you think about it from an objective perspective. The dungeons were way overhyped and underachieved, there are very few quests and of those many require absurd traveling distances for very little SP, settlements are useless, a few new beastmen mobs for extra grinding and some new icons. The difference is, back then progress was the only thing that kept people playing, because it was the only thing to do. Yeah some will say more to come in the future but we are fast approaching a year. Patch 1.18 was supposed to be the fix we had all been waiting for, now everyone is saying it's 1.19 and when that comes the real fix will be 1.20. You get the idea. SE should count themselves lucky to have such devoted fans.
