    If the fence is merely cosmetic and has no relevance to game play does it matter if you can walk through it or not? But walking through fences makes me feel inhuman! Yeah because casting magic is so realistic. People complained endlessly about collision and they fixed it. Now people complain that they fixed it. Its obvious that the FFXIV player base will never be happy with anything they do. Adding cutesy animations that do nothing but make the player feel better is in no way a priority right now. Collision is fine, let them fix the rest of the game.

    no people who had no clue what they where talking about complained about collision, they where the more vocal voice unfortunately, and SE went off the deep end changing it.

    If a fence is there, you should not be able to go through it, no matter the reason.

    Yes it is silly to talk about "realism" in a fantasy RPG, but at the same time even fantasy has to have some basis of realism, unless it is explained there should be no reason for our characters to walk through fences and up cliffs.

    I like: Improved ability to climb/drop.
    I dislike: Ability to walk right through things.

    I just don't think that walking for three seconds longer by being taking an intelligent route that avoids a fence is a bad thing. I mean, if I wanted that kind of thing, why not just make us not have any barriers at all, and float over everything, and deal with the game in straight lines? I know that's taking things to extremes, but the entire point of my post is that you shouldn't sacrifice realism (or at least "thinking while walking") from the game. I do hope the ability to walk through things disappears one way or another - be it jumping instead, vaulting (that would be awesome) or just putting objects (not cliffs!) back to the way they were.

    As soon as I get home tomorrow I'll run around Twelveswood and see what this thread is all about, and learn if I should complain or ignore lol.

    But just a thought, if SE is willing to do such things being discussed in this thread, and people are actually enjoying it. Then they need to remove the physics option in config and permanently turn it off. I like my hair swaying as I run but if the majority of people want physics off then who am I to complain.

    Vacation sucks...

    If you don't wanna run through fences and objects, run around 'em. If you ran through it then you're being lazy and it obviously wasn't that big of a deal to go Casper when you needed through there and it was faster to do so.

    edit: P.S. I'm all for it lol not that big of a deal to me, time consuming enough as is

    This was a great addition to the patch, I must admit.

    Thanks to the devs for allowing my powerful mage to step over little bumps. I always felt a little silly having to go around a ledge half an inch high.

    To be honest, I liked the fact that I get my ass whipped because I didn't pay attention to the road while fleeing from pre-emptive monsters.
    I would like to have that feature back. It doesn't feel like I'm seeing a fence =)

    Well I still run around fences and I still run around players.

    Because I am polite and don't want to make the game look completely retarded for everyone else around me.

    If only everyone else was as thoughtful.

    The removal of the collision detection for dropping OFF all ledges should be removed. Going back up should be another story, but that's the designers faults for making everything so damn bumpy. It doesn't look right to be able to run up some of the ledges we can now, especially with their animations.

    Fences, well, you shouldn't be able to run through fences. I hope they fix this instead of lazy method they have now. Don't get me wrong, i like the lazy method as a temporary fix, but not as permanent one.
