    Skill adjustments for PvP

    Yoshi has already commented there will be skill adjustments for PvP, for both PvE-original skills and PvP-specific skills. So I thought we could talk about what changes we wanted to see. These are just a few things I would like to see adjusted:


    WAR/MRD
    The skill "Holmgang" no longer binds the caster.
    The skill "Berserk" no longer has the Pacification effect after skill effect ends.

    PLD
    The skill "Cover" now calculates damage taken by the PLD using the PLD's defense rating instead of the target's defense rating.
    The skill "Hallowed Ground" now takes effect immediately, not after a 2-seconds animation.

    DRG
    The skills "Dragonfire Dive" and "Spineshatter Dive" now inflict the effect of Bind, not Stun.

    MNK
    The skill "Shoulder Tackle" now inflicts the effect of Bind, not Stun.
    The skill "Arm of the Destroyer" now has a 5 second CD in PvP.
    The skill "Blood for Blood" has the damage inflicted on caster penalty decreased to +10%.

    BRD
    The skill "Blunt Arrow" now takes effect immediately, not after a 2-seconds animation.
    The skill "Blood for Blood" has the damage inflicted on caster penalty decreased to +10%.
    The skill "Shadowbind" has it's duration increased to 20 seconds in PvP.

    BLM
    The skill "Equanimity" is no longer available.

    SMN
    The skill "Equanimity" is no longer available.
    The skills "Fester" and "Bane" are now subject to Diminishing Returns, each subsequent cast has effectiveness reduced by 50% on a 60 seconds timer.
    The cooldown of "Aetherflow" is increased to 120 seconds in PvP.

    SCH
    The skill "Bane" is now subject to Diminishing Returns, each subsequent cast has effectiveness reduced by 50% on a 60 seconds timer.
    The cooldown of "Aetherflow" is increased to 120 seconds in PvP.
    The pets "Eos" and "Selene" can now have their casting interrupted on physical damage.
    The skill "Leeches" can now be casted immediately on the target.

    WHM
    The skill "Esuna" can now be casted immediately on the target.
    The skill "Benediction" now takes effect immediately, not after a 2-seconds animation.

    lol this would severely make melee dps too OP. there is a reason why casters have Equanimity. man i really want to say "learn to play", none of these change make the game balance at all. this is just a flimsy "melee is too weak, please buff us and nerf casters dps" thread.

    btw you can have Equanimity, when casters no longer can be interrupted by a hit.

    OMG, what are you doing ? It's pvp skills based (purify, mythril tempest, aetheric burst etc...).

    Yoshida : When Frontline is released there will also be a complete overhaul to almost all of the PvP skills.

    MRD: You want to give a high damage class even more buffs, lol

    PLD: the cover change would do nothing as there would be cases where the paladin would have less defence stats than the person he covers, due to morale being the defence stat

    DRG: You might aswell remove the CC effect altogether, as bind is instantly removed if you hit the target again

    MNK: shoulder tackle would be a small buff to the initial burst in paladin teams, as the paladins 10 second stun isnt halved because of shoulder tackle, but might be a cool change

    AotD has 2.5s cooldown anyway, only inflicts 1s silence, i dont see why it needs a nerf

    BforB 30% damage boost for 10% damage taken?, thats a stupidly crazy buff

    BRD: I dont see an issue with these changes, apart from the BforB one

    BLM/SMN Equanimity: so you basically want to make BLM's entirely useless unless they have to burn swift and surecast, no, this is retarded

    SCH: I dont really see why aetherflow needs to be nerfed at all, if you are going to nerf eos you might aswell do the same to the -egi summons

    WHM: Esuna has a fast enough cast time to the point where its rarely getting interuppted, so i dont see the point in this

    You do realize whm has Fluid Aura/Bind/Regen/Medica II (if the use it) Repose- Cross Class Blizzard II

    SCH= Blizzard II (Cross Class) LOL and you want to increase their Aetherflow.... your all kinds of something.. LOL. Back to playing my game eaz

    Expect drastic reductions in crowd control durations, not increases. They already confirmed that sleep is getting toned down and 20 second shadowbind would be super dumb.

    Instant cast dispels make sense to me. Always worked fine in other games from my experience, I find it strange they have a cast time in this one.

    I think marauder is going to be much less useful in frontlines than wolves' den since its sustained dps is so bad. So I'm a bit worried that it's going to get hit with the nerf bat due to its power in Wolves' Den, which will effectively cease to exist in 2.3.
