Turn One - Coil, OT WAR - Ads

Could use some advice OT Turn 1 - small ads about a minute into the fight. I'm a an Ilevel 88 WAR and have successfully done this many times, however ran into a few people that blamed me this week for some wipes and sadly it's stuck with me. I want to get better at this, not sure what else I can do:
    1. As soon as I see the first: prov, thawk and opower to get aggro
    2. I buff Thrill and if needed fsight or bbath, though I prefer to save one to rotate CDs.
    3. I dodge what I can from the main boss (often there's no silence, which makes it a bit harder) and stun the little guy if I can or try to get out of the aoe way
    4. I keep facing the door we came in at (far from boss) and the 2nd one will pop, I gain aggro the same as in step one above, pop an additional buff or 2 and use opower a bit more with the 2 of them.
Is this about right, anything I'm missing? I think I know what I'm doing but would love any tips.

If I were you, I wouldn't start with provoke... When the small nodes pop they have no hate built up, so using provoke first is a waste. I would just use a non-combo butchers block as it will still give a great deal of hate. Then go into your normal hate rotation. If the healers are spamming AOE heals (which they probably will be if no one is silencing high voltage) then you will probably lose initial hate, if you do, provoke, then tomahawk, overpower, and you should get it back.

Provoke gives you hate equal to that of the highest person on the hate list plus 1. Almost completely useless for initial hate. As far as I know stun doesn't work on them either.

The nodes spawn every 40 seconds, the first should be about 5 seconds after ADS uses high voltage for the second time. When I used to offtank this as a warrior I'd plan to be at the entrance to the arena a few seconds before the first node is supposed to spawn. Rather than tomahawk I prefer to use overpower. The cost is about the same but overpower is a bit more enmity at almost the same range of use. After the second overpower it's business as usual. Dodge the aoes and try to hit the nodes with storms path and butchers block, 40 seconds after the first one spawns the second will spawn, with some practice it's possible to have butchers block ready right as the second node is spawning, that will serve to really solidify hate on you.

Cool down usage is kind of up in the air at this point. I generally won't use any cool downs beyond inner beast for the first node, unless it's an attack node. Dirty bomb is bad news. Once the second node is out I'll use vengeance and bloodbath, then convalescence and thrill of battle.

Truth be told I rarely see a second node any more. Unless absolutely all the dps are under i80 you really should only ever have to deal with one node. If the dps are really kicking you can skip the adds entirely.

You rarely see a second node? Can I come play on your server? I've yet to turn this and been party of a group that moved on with only 1 node popping. Always 2 and sometimes a 3rd node is active when we beat mini-boss. Thanks for the note on Provoke, forgot about that, should help a bit.

Oh and I guess I should mention I'm mostly running with randoms. So that is part of the problem I'd suppose.

With the current situation, in which Myth is farmable and can be easily obtained, the players are expected to sit on ilv around 85+,so AdS should be disposed off quickly before the second adds spawn, given everyone put out their best performance.

As for ads issue, as the OT, you only have one job to do is to hold the aggro on ads. So here is what I did as Warrior OT:

1/First add spawn, Overpower, followed by a non-combo Butcher's block to ensure a quick grabbing of aggro. Then do 2 Aggro-rotation on the said add and stop to reserve my TP. All DPS should be on boss for burn, and none should attack the add. Therefore, the only aggro competition you have to worry about is just of the healers.

2/The second add spawn, Overpower and repeat the same procedures as the first add.

Doing the same with the third, fourth add if they spawn but then again, if you see the third adds spawn, it is time to re-evaluate your strategy because your group's DPS is low.

In case of, no add was on the loose but your group still wipe, no worry, it is NOT your fault. And yes, Provoke to be used at initial skill is bad and should only be used when you have an add goes after anyone else besides you.

Here's what I do...when I'm OT..I sit at the entrance and just wait for the adds to spawn.

Yes I could probably attack the boss and then run back, but he usually dies so quickly it wouldn't be worth it.

I pretty much always see a 2nd node, sometimes a 3rd. Then again, I run it in Derp Finder.

@OP - take it with a grain of salt when people blame the tank. They *always* blame the tank.

It sounds like you have the right idea but as previous people have said, Provoke is a poor opener.

As WAR OT, I stay on ADS rotating SE/SP combos until the second Piercing Laser goes off. At that time, I take that as a cue to stop attacking ADS and head to the entrance where the adds will spawn. I Tomahawk the first, then Overpower it. Usually gives me enough hate to top the list on adds. Run through your Butcher's Block combo, but remember to use cooldowns if you feel you're getting hit a little more than you'd care to be hit. Healers should be keeping you alive at least. Second one comes along, I do the same as I did the first, making sure to hit BOTH adds with OP. From that point I stick to going through BB, switching between the first add and the second. After about 20 seconds, the ADS is usually downed. Just make sure to keep the adds near enough to the entrance that they can't be near ADS,but keep yourself close enough to be in healer range for AoE heals, if they're spamming them.

Using provoke to pull a mob is like throwing a shriekshroom at it and expecting it to wanna kill you. You have the right idea though, just replace your voke with a T-hawk, as stated earlier.

I do not tank on WAR but a FC mate uses this strat, once he has the first node, he positions himself to the sides (moving as needed for piercing laser), so that when the new one pops it will either get a OP, or a flash to grab it. Seems to work pretty well.
