No he must not. It´s his choice.
He can make his own PF group as drg and get people in.
But if I make a group and dont want a drg then so be it.
If I make a group saying you are not allowed to wear pants then so be it.
You can either join and obey or make your own party with shirts off instead of pants.

If you think dragoon is a good way to run it then run it with your own party.
From my experience BLM+Bard / double BLM is just faster and why should I take longer than necessary?

Best chance to meet greatest FF XIV weirdos in person is doing Brayflox hm. Persons met and conversations listened to while doing this dungeon are simply exceptional.
My guess - Brayflox hm is next step for people that used to "level up fast by doing Aurum vale/Dzemael darkhold 1st room only". Most probably have never even beaten 2nd room in those dungeons yet.

I am well aware of the options he has. I was challenging those who answered and basically said "play a different class". Personally, I chose not to run Brayflox HM at all. Because I don't want to. Because I don't NEED to. So I don't even join or make parties for it. The obsession with not only speed running the dungeon, but now doing it as fast as possible (thus only taking specific classes) is encouraging class discriminations. Sure, you make a party, you call the shots. But beyond that, when it's your class/job's turn to be frequently excluded from content - and not for legitimately underperforming or lacking useful tools for said content - let's see you still take that same stance on the matter.

Is this your first MMO? The same thing happened in FFXI. People are lazy and want to progress with the least amount of effort/time spent. If you can shave .1 second off a run by doing X then you can be damn sure people will do X. I'm not saying that it is right and I agree with you and try to avoid Brayflox SRs because they are boring as hell but get forced to SR when it comes up for the roulette.

Just send a tell to the party leader asking for an invite and tell them your fastest time. However, it isn't just about getting through as fast as possible though. If aoe is low the tank will run out of CD and probably die. Single target dps can be as great as you like but if the party is wiping because the first pack isn't dying fast enough then people are going to start asking for the dps classes with more consistent aoe.

Level up and gear BLM then. It's pretty useless to cry about not being able to join SRs because you have tunnel vision on one class. Like everyone else says make your own party finder and hope your group doesn't mind you running out of TP when trying to clear aoe mobs.

Personally i always do Bray HM as blm and while i do prefer a Bard or other blm i have no issues if a dragoon or Monk come either.
I have done it as Bard with another one and while not overly bad we would have been done much sooner if i was blm.
Same issues arise were players believe they "need" mellee because of limit break, but more often that figured like the large bomb in the last boss, a blm limit break works just fine.
There be jerks in every class, just play what you like to go as or find groups to go in with.

I'm looking at your profile and see you have other classes at all. You have nothing leveled for even the cross class skills. To be perfectly honest there are static groups that wouldn't take you without those skills. You are always going to have situations in this game where people are going to not need your favorite class. Try to be a little more flexible and take the time to level and gear other classes. It will make the content me accessible.
