PS4's DualShock4 on PC

Not sure if anyone is interested in this. But I finally managed to get my PS4 controller to work on my PC and XIV as the new controller is really nice and it also works with the rumble vibration as well as the Touchpad on it.

What I did was follow the steps I found on this website:

If some people dont like clicking on links posted on the forums, just leave some questions below if you also want to use the DS4 on your PC to play XIV with, and I will try to help as well as I can

You might not be aware of this, but the game also fully supports the playstation button layout. If you go into the controller button config in game you can change it so that instead of the 360 button displays, it will show the ∆ Ο X □ onscreen instead.

I was playing with the PS4 controller on PC for awhile. I like it a lot.

HOWEVER...

Microsoft a couple weeks ago FINALLY released official drivers for the XBox One controller (albeit with no wireless support yet). I don't own a XBox One, but the controller for it is incredible. The main reason is the analog sticks. They're concave and much more tacky. The Dualshock4 sticks are domed and slippery.

Now, if you prefer the button layout of the Dualshock 4 controller, have some disposable income, and like to tinker, you can always swap the thumbsticks out.

Pfft or just buy some silicone caps for the thumbsticks for pennies! I happen to use them on both my Dualshock 4's and it means I can customize the thumbsticks with no fuss.

But it's no fun unless there's a risk of completely destroying an expensive piece of hardware. ^_^

I'm just in that weird gray area where I prefer the PS4 as a console, but I like the XBox One's controller more than the Dualshock 4. PARADOX.

I've use a DS4 on my PC for quite some time for ffxiv. I love it. Ill never go back to KB and mouse.

Does the touchpad work? I've been using DS4 for a while without any drivers and using the startup config edit instead. I decided not to emulate xinput because I want to use the touchpad buttons and ps guide with xpadder to assign it hidden buttons for things like /facetarget macro for blm and level sync macro for fates.

I use DS4 tools and the touchpad does work. I dont use it though because i find it easier to use the mouse if i need to.
