One thing to note for people staying on the strip, there is a free shuttle that is constantly riding from Bally's to Rio.
Meaning technically, if you stay at Bally's your staying at Rio except your on the strip. :P
So are regular tickets sold out as well now?
Yeah, the general ticket sale sold out in about an hour after launch.
The walk around the Vegas strip isn’t all that bad, unless you plan on dressing up >_>
If you are driving to here most of the hotels have free parking, so if you end up staying else where you could just drive up to or park close to Rio.
If you are set on getting a room at Rio, just keep checking the hotel site everyday. I grabbed a double room after the pre-ticket sale for $197 a night, since then I’ve seen the price fluctuate up and down between $200 to $390.
if you want to stay at a place with a cool pool, the Golden Nugget had just finished upgrading theirs with a shark tank in the middle of it.
It took me while to figure it out, but you need to select a different Data Center and then reselect your correct one, this will prompts the World Server tab to show up.
Hahaha... my friends are paying me for their tickets. I was just the only one of us that had access to a computer during the ticket launch, plus I get cash back points for these charges >_> <_< >_>
I'm wondering if there will be any deals for staying at the Rio for fan festival attendees as there were in the FFXI fan fests in the past.
Yes, that's what it looks like. The Rio jacked up the prices for their rooms by $100 each night the Fanfest takes place. (I'm guessing if the Rio did offer a "convention discount" it would probably be whatever the original, non con weekend rate would be.)
Seriously, it would be cheaper to rent a car, take a shuttle bus or taxi from another hotel than to stay at the Rio at this point. The Rio's not a bad place to stay, but if you're just looking for someplace to just sleep and shower there are much less expensive options in Vegas.
LOUISOIX DIED SO YOU COULD PLAY 2.O
Having been to Vegas before, my suggestion would be stay at Bally's. They have a shuttle that takes you directly to the Rio (owned by same company and attached to the Paris effectively). Much cheaper if you need to save a few bucks. I personally want to stay at Rio if a possible discount exists so I can go drinking with FC mates and not worry about cabbing/shuttling somewhere to sleep.Yes, that's what it looks like.
