    It's just an issue created by the community itself, like many other issues that people try to get SE to "fix".

    In terms of MMOs, video guides didn't become very popular until Tankspot started doing videos for WoW. It became the norm in that game to have DBM installed to yell in your ear everytime an ability is coming and to watch the Tankspot video to know what you're doing.

    In the days prior to WoW, there were no community enforced requirements like these. People just kept attempting things until they completed it. Eventually some written guides would come out, but people seemed more patient several years ago, opposed to now where one wipe and people flip out and drop the group.

    Yeah, I'm an old FFXI player, this is the first game I've actually seen video guides used for. Personally, for the fights I've watched vids on, I've found beneficial for actually seeing the boss mechanics in action. Before, in FFXI, all I really had access to was text guides.

    Personally, I don't have a problem with youtube or twitch content providers. I also don't see the difference in using a video guide or a text guide. The only difference is the avenue which the guide is being provided.
