Checked her out. Nice vids. Only prob is that there isnt a t9 guide and her t8 guide came out 2 weeks ago. Furthermore, her Mog ex guide just came out yesterday. That's pretty late. I usually go with Mr. Happy and other FCs/statics who go for server-first 'cause I know they'll have a vid up much quicker

Yeah, and OH LOOK, her Moggle Mog video is as long as Mrhappy's video! Isn't that weird? People always complain about Mrhappy having long videos, but now MTQcapture has a video just as long, someone call the police or something!

I love both of their videos, I'm on the same server Mizzteq, and I always see Bok Choy and like to throw things at him. No reason people should be hostile to anyone, they're just videos, if you don't like the bad players you get, don't play with them.

I think it's because he's so well known that hostility breeds. If it were the reverse I'm sure she'd be being the one put on the examining table and talk about in a negative manner. It happens a lot when something or someone is popular.

I never watch youtube. I feel it takes too long and you don't really get a feel for the abilities until you have personally felt them - but that doesn't mean I don't look at a guide before going in. Most guides are condensed with "need to know" information, and that's enough to get you through the really devastating mechanics. If you aren't willing to take the 2 minutes to do a guide search and glance at the boss's abilities, you do deserve to be kicked. A MINIMUM of effort is what people are looking for, not for you to wipe 5 times to the same mechanic because you are "learning" it instead of "watching" for it.

Nothing to do with being "famous" (see the difference with popular ?). People don't like him because :

1) his videos contain errors, which is a grave mistake if you intend to do a how to with rotations and stuff.

2) he's making people pay.

you can check his twitch if you really doubt it. You have to pay if you want to talk.

Also, his gameplay videos were advertized at some point iirc (I installed adblock since then, so can't really remember that, I might confuse with an other).

All in all, if I'm being told to watch a vid I'm bound to say no for two reasons.

1. I don't learn from videos. I learn at the same rate, if not faster when actually experiencing the thing.

2. I prefer to read guides, if I'm forced to.

That being said, when I'm learning, I only go with my FC or I will make a PF specifically stating I have not watched vids and people do not have to watch vids or read guides to join when learning.

However, very interested in creating a Dragoon guide sooner or later for many various situations/fights.

She doesn't have a T9 guide because I don't think her static has completed T9 *or* they haven't done it in a consistent enough manner for her to explain the mechanics and make a video for it.

The Mog EX one she skipped originally because she hates that fight. I believe she said she only did the fight once and didn't want to do it again, but she made the video because a bunch of people were requesting it and she felt it was necessary to help them out (since Mog EX is a pain to fight.)

That's a bad reason. You should dislike Mrhappy's videos because they are often wrong in rotations, explain things badly and follow the rule "omahgerd need to be the first one to post a kill videooooooooo". (For those who don't know said rule, it's simple : get a more or less clean kill, then add random and/or inexact comments on it. Then post it as "the true one method to do it" and try to gather a bit of glory from it)

Sounds like you got more issues with him than just "bad videos".

Can you provide some examples of wrong rotations or explanations in his videos? Granted I only watch his videos once or twice before doing the fight and I don't come back to it after I cleared that turn so I might be wrong. But I don't recall any grave mistakes and what is in the video generally tends to coincide with the fight in game.

Also would like to see any evidence that he claimed that his method is the "one true method" to do the fight. IIRC, his turn 8 video mentioned that there were many ways to push towers and what was shown in the video was only his group's way of doing it. He also mentioned that he would likely do another video to show a different method, but he never got around to doing it.

As for "omahgerd need to be the first one to post a kill videooooooooo", would like to see some evidence for this, if not its just your personal opinion and you have no idea if he was rushing it or not.

I wonder how many static groups would have been able to clear t6-t9 days/weeks after the content was released if they didn't have his video as a reference. What is undeniable is that he is the first to post end game video guides out there. Even if his methods are "wrong", if it works for him and gets a clean kill, then how wrong can it be? Also, the random/inexact comments make no sense unless you are suggesting he is purposely misleading people for some unfathomable reason.

Now, I also dislike him charging money for twitch, but from what you say the content is still free and accessible and you only need to pay if you wish to talk, which would only apply to die hard fans anyway. I don't see anything wrong with trying to earn a little additional money on the side. Also please don't take it personally as I'm not trying to attack you, but what you say just seems very biased to me as unless you know him in real life, many of your insinuations seem to be very unfair at least from a neutral standpoint (I also don't know him at all).

Mrhappy's videos are designed to convey understanding of each aspect of the fight. The moves and actions, followed with a demonstration of a sucesssful fight.

Some guide are less detailed than that and offer a more succinct instruction.

Depending on the fight and the player one is more useful than the other.

But nothing beats actually going yourself and talking to others. What would have taken 3 minutes to explain with charts and a video can be conveyed with a "I got door signs" and "run out to the white and run back in"
