I agree that is a lot of fun going blind and learning as you experience it but pls for the love of Zeus do it in a learning party if you can. Much less stressful on you too and you'll be in a party with other people that are trying to learn it blindly too. A team that is trying to figure out the fight is fun. A team half learning half experienced is a recipe for disaster and stress.

Why should it be the inexperienced ones (often new players, some not even used to mmorgs and stuff like forums videos) that goes to so much trouble to play the game?

I'm not saying one side should leave DF more than the other, I'm just saying that the ones with criteria should use PF. You can't expect anything in DF (knowledge, skill, experience, method of fighting...). That applies to everyone:

- If the inexperienced guy wants to really discover everything without explainations/carry/etc... with only inexperienced people and no spoiler and a max of challenge, then he should use PF. If He doesn't mind potentially experienced people who might rush the dungeon of give explanations in advance, he can use DF.

- If the experienced guy wants to do SRs, he should use PF. If he can deal with having inexperienced people in the party, he can use DF.

The only thing that you should expect from other players in DF is common politeness, but even that seem to be too much to expect from DF...

Why do you say it like we the older players didn't go through all that too? We've been there, trying to learn a fight like they are now. I'm still doing it.

There is nothing wrong with joining a learning party. I said it as an advice because I've been there too.
Joined T5 through DF completely blind. Everyone was doing the perfect dance and I was kissing the floor. 2 wipes after, nobody said anything but I felt bad and left. There was no point for me to stay there and I couldn't expect from 7 strangers to spend and hour of their time teaching me.
I joined a learning party, no stress whatsoever, no feeling bad. I had a great time playing with other noobs like me and got out of it more experienced with the fight.

Not saying there is anything wrong in joining a learning party, on the contrary, I believe it is often more enjoyable for the inexperienced, as you said.
My point was just that it shouldn't be mandatory to be allowed to play the game, and you shouldn't get any grief over it. But it is a good advice, yes

T5 is a different animal, though. I am a pro at dealing with fireballs, conflags, and divebombs. So when I put up a PF for a learning party, I spent weeks and weeks teaching others that first half of the fight.

Now, sure, I say "learning party - must be experienced beyond divebombs", but how do you think that works out?
