Fates can be super fun!

One of my favorite things to do during the levelling process was going to highbridge in eastern thanalan and doing the multi-fate event that happens there in which you aid the npcs in protecting the crates and fighting off your attackers back to where they came.

I would love to see more chain fates like that, where multiple fates occur back to back in the same location that tells a story and lasts a decent amount of time so you don't have to keep mounting up and running somewhere else in the zone.

I think more lengthy events like that would help people have more fun in the world gaining levels and hunting for atma and alexandrite. I like the sort of format where you fight smaller minions and end up fighting a big boss, like Svara in Coerthas.

Just because you don't like them means no-one else can?

Personally prefer to run FATEs than endlessly grind dungeons over and over and over, which is what im doing for Novus.

I couldn't agree more Rufalus. The chain Fates were some of the more entertaining Fates. It would be interesting to see if the development team could include some more chain Fates such in which if you were over-run by a monster group, it pops up again in stronger numbers by a nearby settlement etc. Likewise if you failed to take down Cancer in the Bloodshore Bay, for example, it would be a lot more interesting if it returned as a roaming Bounty Hunt for players for a short period of time (notorious monster concept shared by Yoshi's version of Notorious Monsters for FFXIV).

there is also the king fate in quarry mill, it was fun back in the day, when everyone was leveling when the game started. first the goblin vs kat fight, and blms will accidentanly aoe the lvl 35 squal and i'm like " i see dead people! " then, we move on closer to the king ara and u see people dieing everywhere from archer's poison arrows, being a whitemage there i would die if i over healed it was prety fun. then the king fight that one usuallly being kited someoone running around cause nobody could actually tank him to the face. those were the times. now i go there and i find not a single person there it's deppressing to say the least!

when the expansion comes, they need to raise the level cap add new fates in the new areas so we can enjoy the old times again!
