Glamour & Need

It's all pixels and polygons, no one actually Needs anything so I've always interpreted the Need button as "This is an upgrade for me. If I win I will use this in my main set for this class until I get something better."

Therefor I consider need rolling for glamour, seals, gil, retainers, etc to be an abuse of the system and think that person is a scumbag.

Form your own glamour farming group if you want a certain piece that badly, don't inconvenience other players with your shallow bullcrap.

Except that stronger items exist that you can get from tomes (as long as we're talking anything below ilv 95). One player may roll on an item because it's an upgrade and then replace it for something better in a week or two, and another may roll it for Glamour purposes and use it for months. You do not get to decide which is more important, and to some players, having their characters look aesthetically-pleasing is a goal. You also have no right to tell them that they're wrong and cannot roll on something in a DF group because they may have different priorities than you.
