    question about chocobo companions

    I plan on leveling my chocobo in dps, but i was wondering if its worth branching off into a different tree? (heh). I was thinking of skipping the very last point in the dps tree and putting some points in healing. So is it worth it, or do i just go full dps?

    Well... leveling a Chocobo to Rank 10 would take quite a "while". But once you pick a skill tree, finish it. I suggest for it to go DPS / Healer. The reason is because if you ever spent a point in another tree, you won't get the exclusive barding the moment your Chocobo reaches Rank 10 (DRG-style barding for DPS, WHM for Healer, and PLD for Tank).

    Much appreciated, Wouldn't have known bout the special bardings otherwise. On another note; is there some sort of respec potion for chocobos?

    There isn't, but more specifically there isn't yet a way to respec your chocobo. They keep saying that they will add something (have been saying that since ARR launch) and recently they revealed that there will be a way to surpass rank 10 eventually so that you can presumably get 2 or all 3 full skill branches complete. Not too many details on that yet, but it will, at least initially, require the use of a FC house.

    Thanks for the info, perhaps something will be added once breeding becomes a thing?
