Yoshi said originally this would be out 6 months after the game launched now its almost 1 year. Is SE still going to give us sdk for making addons for FFXIV? Haven't really heard anything about this in a long time.

Me neither, one add-on I would adore is PS4 voice chat thing able to talk to people on Coms using a program. That would be nice.
Last I heard of it was from a recent interview around E3 time I believe. I'll have to dig up said interview so please give me a minute

NY: First of all, about add-on plans, I am sorry of the delay because of our work on the PlayStation 4 version, it delayed the initial plans we had in mind. You’ll definitely be able to change the skin of the interface, and on the technical side of things, if a technical person creates an add-on you’ll probably be able to pull some data which is send from the server to the client’s side.PA: There’s been a lot a lot of discussion around add-ons, parsers, and whether they are allowed in game. Do you think there will be a time in the future where damage parsers and the like are sanctioned by Square Enix?
Talking about tools to monitor DPS damage made by players: at the moment we have no plans to introduce an official tool because I do feel that if we introduce this tool, the players who are enjoying the DPS role but don’t necessarily have the player skill of other players I think it’s going to make them really uncomfortable in the game and in the party they might be blamed for the results. We don’t want encourage that. We’re not going to say we’re forbidding players to use that kind of tool if they make it, but I think that’s really up to the community and players for that decision. For example, with the World of Warcraft with DPS add-on, if players are not necessarily good enough, then you get that skeleton on top of their head, and I don’t think this is pleasant for players.

I actually wonder what sort of "addon" content they will be releasing. Changing the interface and stuff would be great though (more options is always great).
However I doubt we will ever see officially endorsed addons, made by users for the game considering they have the power to change the user experience for some (PC players) and make it easier for them to play the game and the PS3/PS4 players would be at a disadvantage (Unless you could put them on those versions too which I doubt)
I doubt we'll ever see an addon culture kinda like other MMOs have (I'm looking at WoW as a big example) because of the console players and I fully understand and support the developers in that decision.
FFXI has a huge slew of mods and addons (never officially recognized) and it's on PS2/PS3/360; so it will happen but I think a lot of people are waiting for the tools to actually be released.I actually wonder what sort of "addon" content they will be releasing. If you read my post, you'd see that I did actually say that any addon content like that would never be officially recognized so the people using them/developing them will be a very small niche part of the communityA huge part of the playerbase will stay clear in fear that Square Enix cracks down on the use of such content.
