    YES fates are broken.

After reading the live letter today about how people complain about the fates for animus.
Tonight Coerthas , taste of fear fate, 2am I turned up at the area, it's about to hit 5am and the fate hasn't spawned once, (real time not game time)
If your aim is to lose subscribers, you really are going the right way about it
clearly 3 hrs is not working as intended /rant off
Sitting in a zone for three hours for one fate to spawn is beyond a joke, Coerthas suffers due to the fact so many fates spawn here. Surely giving priority to ones that are in books is better

It is clearly working as intended, you should be thanking someone higher up that it isn't like the coil lockout where you can only do one once a week.

Yes waiting three hours for a fate which could of been best spent elsewhere is clearly working as intended.
And way to go taking it off topic, this post has nothing to do with coil

If you're sitting and waiting, you're doing it wrong.

Get out there and complete other fates in the same zone. Only so many will be up at any one time, and you can clear a fate faster than the time it takes for it to expire.

Just keep your map open and as soon as it pops, drop everything and run to it. Run like it's a soldier back from war.

I have only had one stubborn fate, in Blue Fog. Took about 80 minutes for that bastard to pop. But the rest are less than 20 minutes at most.

He is crying that he has to wait 3 hrs for something that hasn't popped yet, people have to wait days to go back in coil for something they want. You must be tired because they sure as hell are on the same topic (time waiting for something in game).

FATEs have been well documented in issues since beta, I'm pretty sure the dev team uses them because they're easy to make with excellent recycle-ability and that's it.

Zerg issue? Solo Vs Party effort? Time? Difficulty? FATEs is a giant brown flan with some gem elements hidden in its pudgy corners.

...I may have some unresolved feelings about FATEs.. lol

To the nice person saying about killing other fates, when I said sitting and waiting I meant as in I was in zone,I done all fates that spawned.
To the idiot that kept talking about coil, this topic is about fates, please don't reply if all you can do is moan about coil.

People whining about Coil just want to be geared out in a week so they can whine they have nothing left to do...

On topic however, some FATEs do have slightly hefty timers on them. It would definitely be nice if there were triggers for at least the quest-tied FATEs. Could even retain a spawn window to avoid FATEs being chain spawned and blocking other FATEs. Even a three hour window doesn't seem that bad if you KNOW if you go out there at X time and satisfy X condition you'll get your FATE to spawn.

No one told you you had to do Animus. You knew what the requirements were and what might happen (including rare FATES.) If that wasn't something you were on board with why sign up? There are plenty of other weapon alternatives for those that don't have the time or the will to fulfill the relic weapon requirements.

because you can watch the same fate that is used for 0 quest spawn over 15 times each, sometimes 4 times in a row(literally right after you kill it it starts again), and the quest fates(which means they actualy have a use to exist in the game) never spawn. SE admitted in the live letter today that different fates do have different priority when it comes to chances to respawn, and almost all book fates(judging from the translation) are on the low end of the priority. meaning book fate may hva e 1/20 chances of showing up while, x fate that has no quest has a 1/2 chance of showing up. This is how SE programmed it. this is how they want it to work. It is not broken, it's just what us FF11 players Call SE logic, it makes 0 since to anyone in the world, except SE.
