What's your MMO history?

Hey guys. Just figure it would be fun for us to talk about and list mmo's we have
played. And by played I mean for more than 1 week lol. Something you out atleast some time into.

Maybe there's some we've played others haven't heard of, who knows.

So, let's make our lists. And we can even put how long we played them.
Phantasy star online(pso):2001-current
my first, got it at release, played on dreamcast. Eventually moved to game cube, then xbox, then pc private servers(where I still have a character to this day)

Runescape:2003-2012
This was my game in between pso. I played both all the time, but depending what my friend and I were doing for the day we were ether playing pso at his house or Runescape at the library lol. Though they have changed a lot, I still have a character. But I don't play any more.


FFFXI:2006-2013
Ofcourse final fantasy Xi is on my list lol. Another friend of mine got into it in late 04 early 05, as his first MMO and got me into it a bit later. I played it when I had money for the sub lol. Up till about a year ago actually when my account somehow got hacked. And I haven't seen it since.

DCUO:2011(launch day) - 2013
Played this game for 4 months straight. Started on ps3, from day one, was one of the first players to lvl30 and then moved to pc with a friend who didn't have ps3. I still hop on once in a blue moon to fly around.

Swtorecember 2011(launch day) - 2012
My same friend who did dcuo on pc bought me the game and we played. For about 4 months also be for kinda straggling off. Then just here and there till last year. Haven't logged in for about a year.

Digimon masters online: 2012-2014
Fun game. Play it once In a while still if I'm bored Though it kinda lost my interest after about 2 months and I hit level cap at the time

Pso2:Aug 2012-current
Still waiting for my American launch. Till then. I play on Jp servers. With my translation patch lol. No game can stop my love of pso games. And this is a game like the first that I'll play for as long as it has a. Server running it, official or private like original pso has now.

And of course, ffxiv

Played 1.0 beta, and now 2.0 though on different account, since my old. Account that was linked ffxiv and ffxi got hacked

Pretty much just FFXI, The Old Republic and FFXIV 1.0. With FFXI being the one I spent most of my time in (January 2015 will be my tenth anniversary since I first started playing, and yes, my account is still active, although I don't play much anymore, as ARR is too addictive).

I did try WoW too of course, but ironically I found it so boring I let my account lapse after only playing it for barely an hour.

Oho. A DR player huh. Been a long, long time since I left Elanthia. Some may think it doesn't qualify as an MMO but I think it counts based on the sub alone.

My short list:

Asheron's Call: My first "real" MMO. Some of the best emotes ever in that game. Still waiting on a /playdead and /ayotot here! Never played the 2nd one though.
FFXI: I still log in on occasion, but I never end up getting anything done.
FFXIV 1.0: I played from beta/launch until the end of the world.
Guild Wars 2: This game had me hooked for a while after XIV servers went down. Sadly, I haven't really paid it much mind since ARR's release. I miss goofing around on my Asura, but the XIV controller scheme has spoiled me.

That's about it for me. Unless you count the months or so I spent exploring NWN persistant worlds.

My left wrist doesn't work so well any more because of all the time I spent typing "att tr" (attack troll) into the command line

I was the third or fourth Cleric in the game to get Resurrection when that quest became available

FFXI for 5 or so years, WoW for maybe 3 months, GW2 for 7 months, FFXIV ARR since phase 4, ESO for a month. Tried Tera for a week. lol

MUDs MOOs and MUXes oh my! Which did you frequent most? I play Lensmoor on and off.

As for modern MMOs:
FFXI was my first, loved the hell out of it. 2005-2010
FlyFF, I played it on and off 2007-2008
Aion, lol, that lasted like 6 months.
WoW, 2 weeks. Just felt too childish. Not the playerbase, but the pastel-colored environment.
TERA for about 6 months on and off, mostly played for friends.
Mabinogi, for like, 3 months. Weirdest 3 months of my life.
RO, had a lot of fun, kinda miss it.
RO2, for a few months after release. Was really disappointed with it honestly.

My god I am drawing a blank, I know there's so many more...
Ah, Maplestory- I played that my entire summer vacation back in 2005. Dropped it soon after.
Probably tons of other f2p's that were forgettable for whatever reason.

And of course, XIV since 1.0.

I played PSO for Gamecube (never got online with it, but had a friend who did, we usually did "couch" co-op), then PSU on PC for most of its duration, and finally PSO2 for a few months. Very fun games, but I've gotten to where I refuse to support Sega anymore because they always seem to butcher them with localization outside of Japan, among other things. They promised an English version of PSO2 back when it was in Beta; 3 years, a "Southeast Asia" version, and an "unofficial" fan-made English patch later, and still nothing besides, "Oh, it's delayed, and we aren't saying why." I can't help but find it both fishy and depressing.

I had a bunch of friends who played FF11, but I never go to play it with them when they started because 1 - I didn't have a good enough PC, or a hard drive for my PS2, and 2 - my folks didn't get a good internet service for a while. I finally tried it after getting fed up with Sega's crap with PSU, and only played it for a few months before I got fed up with how slow-paced and non-noob-friendly it was.

I then played FF14 1.0 from about half a year after it was released up until it was shut down, then mostly played GW2 and a bit of PSO2 while waiting for ARR to come out.
