Any Idea how this happens

So I play FFXIV in Nvidia surround and every time I go to an area that is really bright the game adjusts to the correct brightness but automatically jumps back to the original brightness any way I can stop this?

Reminds me of the older digital camcorders... when there was a very dramatic change in lighting, it would readjust for a few seconds trying to compensate. May be something similar going on. Is it constantly pulsing like that, or does it just do it after something like zoning or other dramatic scene changes from things like a weather or day/night shift? Could be something that needs to be brought up with nVidia's forums.
