While I do appreciate that the Dev team always tries to stay lore-conscious, things like this (restricting teams based on Grand Company and having separate PvP ranks for each Grand Company) really hinder PvP. If we look at other games with thriving PvP communities, it is because the PvP is easily accessible. Grab a friend, log in and go mess things up. By forcing us to be unable to play with our friends, there is even less of an incentive to PvP in an already rather dead PvP community, and that's very bad if Yoshida is actually serious about PvP being a "thing" in this game.
