The very reason that PvP in general has been challenging for them to put into this game is because it has to fit within the realm and lore of the game world. It has nothing to do with role playing really.

Hence why it's been developed as a competition between GC's, which would obviously have players supporting the GC's that they belong to, especially since PvP ranks, originally created with the Wolves Den, are tied to the GC you support.

    This isn't going to change.

    Edit:
Okay, so nothing is a 100% guarantee. They could modify things, but we have to accept the limitations and try to work around them, not just call them ridiculous and ignore them. Anything they do to let friends from different GC's play together in Frontline has to somehow make sense in the lore and concept.

Perhaps allow FC members to queue together and fight for the GC that their FC is aligned with?

So you basically saying it is good to cut the legs off a PvP game system with unnecessary restrictions because "It wouldn't fit the lore"?! Yeah that philosophy makes for some awesome design.
Also where did you even get that PvP has been challenging to introduce because it has to fit the game world?!?!?!?!?!?!??!? Like there needs to be some overarching insane story behind PvP, jesus.. people who want to pvp just want to PVP, it's about competition NOT the story behind it......

If it wasn't challenging, the devs wouldn't have implemented it in the ways they did, would they?

And yes, I get that many PvP'ers just want the PvP and don't care about the details, but in the end, the devs aren't just going to shove a game element in if it doesn't make any sense, especially in a Final Fantasy game. WoW was easy: Alliance vs. Horde. It made sense, and they didn't have to do anything to excuse it. Some other games have had similar systems, but ARR isn't one of them. The devs 'will not' destroy the integrity of their game just to implement a mechanic, no matter what it is.
