    Possible Graphics Problems?

Hiya everyone, please forgive me if this is an inappropriate issue for this topic.

So, I started playing the game around ten days ago now, absolutely loving it, but yesterday an odd thing started happening. Spells my character cast were constantly flickering, as did other effects, such as the stones orbiting my Titan Summon constantly flickering. I logged out of the game and then immediately back in, and everything was fine. Today everything has, once more, been normal, that was until a cut-scene played and a sudden shaft of green flickering light interrupted the scene for a few seconds. After the cut-scene ended, my spells and stuff went back to becoming all flickery as they were yesterday. Once again, I logged out and when I went back in everything was fine and dandy.

Could this be a game problem, or a sign that something is wrong with my graphics card? I play on a laptop, and my graphics card thingy is a GeForce GTX 660m. It is up to date, not including a beta drive that is available. It was a very hot day...

Any help or advice would be extremely appreciated, thanks in advance!

What graphic driver version are you running? List the specs of your laptop as well!

Oh, sorry I forgot to list that!

Driver: GeForce 340.43 (Just updated, think it is a beta!)
    GPU: GeForce GTX 660m
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
    Memory: 6.00 GB

    Hope that is OK!

Edit: I do not know if it is just me, but the loading times when teleporting seem to be a bit longer then when I started. As I said, could just be me...

An odd thing just happened. I had just logged into the game and got to the loading screen with the little Moogle, and then the screen just went black and all the lights died on my keybord/mouse. I realized then it had, for some reason, locked me out and I had to re-log into my laptop! I went back in and 'CTRL + ALT + DELETE'ed' my way out of the game, and then tried logging back in, which this time worked perfectly. Could this be a symptom of something? Since updating my drive to the new beta one, things have been working alright everywhere else, I think.

As I said before, any help would be extremely appreciated!

I suspect overheating. Ive seen similar issues with overheated laptops in the past with other games.

That could be it, thanks! I use TechPowerUp GPU thingy, and the temperature seems to rarely be going above 60c as far as I can tell (Not sure how accurate it is though, given how I need to basically window the game to check.) It dose feel hot at the back fans, and where I live we are experiencing a bit of a heat-wave so that may not help. Just hope it won't cause any permanent damage...

(By the way, I love your signature picture! )

I see it as being an overheating issue as well since it's powering down your laptop like that. Try underclocking your GPU with MSI Afterburner and see if you can get the heat down!
