This x 1,000...I don't care what level you are. If you are losing hate one of two things is happening. [1] Your a bad tank and should change class. [2] Your gear is not sufficient for the content you are running. In most cases if not all its probably #1. If it ends up being #2..then get better gear.

While I agree that ilvl 68 is adequate for clearing Amdapor Keep you also have to remember that this game has been out for quite some time now. Usually the only time someone will run AK, is if they get it through roulette, or they are completing a relic quest. If you only needed the quest for your relic and you obviously know your going to be worthless in the dungeon why not get your friends to run the dungeon with you. This IMO would be the polite thing to do instead of being a selfish liability for the rest of the group.

You're (see that there? That's how you spell it) an idiot. And yes, you are an elitist; the words you use to describe people show that you think you're better than they are, when really you're trash. You think everything you say is the right way, and everyone else is wrong or a bad player. The fact that you said flat out that people might be so bad they should just quit the game shows how ridiculous you are.

I ran AK as a fresh level 50 PLD in AF and crap accs and had no problem with it. Why? Partly because I know how to handle enmity, but also partly because even though the people running it with me were overgeared, they weren't idiots. Instead of blaming the new tank, why not blame the overgeared idiots who don't know how to handle their own aggro when it's clear their overgeared, yeah?

You admit that the reason you were able to clear the dungeon is because you understand how enmity works. My issue, is not with new players who are still learning how to play their class (which I have no problem helping when they admit they are new). My problem is with players who refuse to admit when they are clearly in the wrong, or players who refuse to accept any sort of criticism. Just because your new doesn't mean you can't be bad at your job. If you go to your job and set the building on fire because you didn't follow the safety protocol, chance are your going to get fired. When a player is bad, for whatever reason, they are still bad. Yes there is a chance that they will get better over time. I don't understand where this notion of "everybody is a winner" came from but it degrades the achievements of those who put the time and effort in to get to where they are. Not everyone is a winner, not everyone is going to be good enough to play every class. Some players just don't have the capacity to excel at certain jobs and no amount of training or "help" is going to get them to the level they need to be at. T

Not everyone is a winner, not everyone is going to be good enough to play every class. Some players just don't have the capacity to excel at certain jobs and no amount of training or "help" is going to get them to the level they need to be at.

We are speaking here about normal dungeons, not the hardest end game instances, so you can expect practically any player to reach an adequate play performance in any class or job, with practice and a will to learn. You can't expect people to do things right at the first try.

BINGO. So long as someone is trying and improving. Not everyone here has played another MMO. I had a WoW account for years, but my kids played and it bored the heck out of me. I played earlier versions of FF that were just plain awful.This is the first MMO that I enjoy so much, I play it every day. I'm learning so many things through reading specs and stats, and of course from the great folks on this forum. Had it not been for a tank in my free company who was willing to listen me say, "Wass that? Wass that?" hundreds of times like a two year old, I don't think I'd be playing now. This game's continued success comes from the cash they generate from monthly revenue of players who continue to play. Being a jerk to people won't keep them around. It's true that not everyone should get a trophy and that not everyone is great at stuff. There will be individuals that won't put in effort. But they will weed themselves out. The people who keep trying will keep getting better.
