Thanks for making this, i made one like this when they sneaked in 2.28 patches notes that you wouldn't be able to change GC while queued to DF but everyone ignored it then.
Anyway, fully support this thread and I'm glad most seem to see this as an issue too.
To me it's nothing to do with losing rank or whatever it's mostly as someone said, imbalance in queue times and not being able to even go in 2-man party with whoever you want. As such I don't think point #3 would work on its own, unlike the other proposed points.
Not to mention whatever other issues that this may cause, i can think of some that may or may not happen but just the possibility that it MAY is unnecessary.
Like you said they could've at least made you able to queue for whatever affiliation your party leader is and just maybe receive slightly less rewards for example, still wouldn't be ideal for the queue health as 100% random placement > all, but at least it wouldn't put such a stupid obstacle in playing with whoever you want.
Main point is it brings nothing worth the restrictions, and just carries the possibility of screwing frontlines through several number of ways. ie. it's useless and brings an unnecessary level of complexity to a system that should be a simple as possible.
This is especially baffling when their main keyword for frontlines is accessibility......

Welcome to the forums!
Where we complain and ask for changes to a system that hasn't been released yet and have no idea about the specifics of how its going to function.
Or maybe you can learn to read and then you would see that it has been confirmed and that we know how it will work.
I agree with OP. I really hope they either change or remove this GC restriction.
I am in a situation where a lot of my friends are spread out, it's also extremely unreasonable to ask them to swap over since they are ranks 35+. Basically the ideal choice would be all of us being able to play together.
I remember back in CT, my entire FC was pumped up about teaming up and doing it together. That idea got shot down quick, I'm starting to feel the same vibe with this GC restriction. Yoshi-P, please let me do frontlines with my friends. Thanks.
Liked and supported OP.
1. that might help, But breaks the lore of affiliating with a GC-To allow the ability to play with friends in a MMORPG
1. Allow you temporary GC status of whoever the party leader is that is queueing for frontlines.
2. Make frontlines FC based off grand company affiliation
3. Remove the PVP rank reset penalty for changing grand companies
Announcement Source
2. so that means Immortal flames will be screwed. just look at their residential wards. Most Malestrom wards are full, Immortal Flames have maybe two wards full. (based off a quick look at Behemoth server)
3. that might be more reasonable. But i would add, possibly restricting it in some way other than pvp rank changes. Something to stop people from flooding one GC over another.
