    Such a waste...

    Level requirement for quest: 50
    Reward: XP
    Less than 1000gil.

I can list several of some of the most subscribed to and currently most played mmorpg that have implemented for as long as I can remember rewards "at the cap" to encourage players to still participate in both end game or lower level content.

The reward could be myth, seals or gil or perhaps implement a new kind of system similar to ffxi merit system.

It's mostly future proofing for cap raise so they don't have to go back and waste time retuning extremely old content beyond nerfing it. As much as people shun stuff from XI, a merit system in the same fashion would have done wonders for the wasted XP as of now.

They should of done what WoW has done, if you complete a quest at the Current Level Cap, the Exp gets turned into Currency.

I'm not a programer so I dont know how difficult that would be to code, but atleast it would be something to look forward to instead of wasted Exp.

Extremely easy but the issue would then be balance - Gil is already overflowing and has little use which is why they cut off a digit from our total gil (especially in transfer from 1.0 > 2.0), in terms of tomes, we already have so many sources that another source would be a waste in a sense it'd be such a low conversion rate that you technically waste that exp you could have used to hit 51.

I don't see where the "balance" issues you speak of are.
    It would be perfectly fine.

Another way they could do it, is by converting EXP earned into rested EXP you can use on other classes.
There is many ways to encourage people to continue questing/doing levequests, etc. without hurting the economy.

This is why for instance quests that award 10-40k+ exp on completion doesn't convert to 10-40k+ gil on completion and instead gives us 300-6kish gil depending. (if you don't count rare items like materia that shot up in price.)

Like when we could convert our Philo tomes into Myth it was a low conversion rate even though Myth became the "worthless" tomes compared to soldiery tomes. So while you'd think it would be fine, the precedence set by current balance shows it would be more of a waste to get it converted in the long run , it's just how Yoshi P works.

So as said, for it to truly be a conversion, do you think getting 60k gil instead of 60k exp will help the economy? Think of all the quests at 50 that still give exp and the quests at 50 that gives gil rewards and notice the significant difference in reward - It's sadly balanced out and that's what we'd expect. Same with the Challenge log.

Who the hell proposed 1xp = 1 gil ratio?.

It doesn't even have to be gil, it could be anything useful, maybe something cosmetic.

For me the issue goes far beyond just quests at level 50.

I never see much use of doing fates, low level roulettes, leves, grinding ect.

Why not make content both viable for leveling and end game?

At 50 it changes if you are going the atma route, Then with your relic weapons you farm FATEs at lv 50 and then when you get to the alexandrite portion of the quest, you can use your weapons to farm up alexandrite through FATE. So there are incentives to doing FATE at 50 but the content in question are rewards which have low drop rates but off a means for those who have the time to attempt gaining alexandrite in said way.

What quest is this? All the level 50 quests I find are all 'unlock this feature or dungeon' quest where the reward is gil.
