First, this is just continuation from original thread found here. The next information are compilations from previous thread and only meant as reference so that players have idea what to meld on each gears when they hit level 50 and starts to attempt working on the iLevel 70+ main tool & head introduced from Patch 2.2.

EDIT:
Regarding to main stat on each playable race, there is a note might be useful here.
Good for another though for your melding plans.

Here are the minimum requirement players need to gather higher rating stuff, along with minimum chance nailing HQ:
1* - 370 gathering & 332 perception (important for farming Umbral rock/Fragrant Log HQ for getting your Foragers tools & hat)
2* - 408 gathering & 389 perception(theoretically, that means having all forager stuff, max meld on every gears, and adding grade 3 gathering materia for off-tools to meet these requirements)
3* - varies between 420-450 gathering & 420-450 perception (definitely need you gears max melded, and depending whether you have Lucis main hand or not, you might or might not need to meld your off tools)
Below those requirements and the attempt on that particular high rating node will always display 0% gathering/perception chance.
Also, reaching 600 GP will help a great deal.
As for Fisher, just disregard any need of GP melding since the class obviously have no use for it.
The format are STAT: AMOUNT, and the amount is the number that can be added to the item, not the total.

Patch 2.3 information on new accessories:
I'll be borrowing information from here. Unfortunately, crafter need to unlock these from the newest Master Recipe which will heavily involved the new crafting feature: Desynthesis. And in case any miner/botany hasn't invest much on the old accessory sets, these new ones are more recommended.
Additional info for Fisher:
To summarize:
- If you have resources to obtain these, Fisher can swap gather accessories with iLevel 70 battle accessories (excluding belt since it has base perception stats). Note that NQ & HQ version have same max meld stats.
- Max meld (as of now) on each pieces are 5 gathering & 5 perception.
- Overall added stats are 9 gathering & 9 perception.

Anyways, just to help, here's my setup which is shared on both my miner & botany gears as of pre-patch 2.3 (again, just take out GP melding from AFs for fisher):
History:
Gear - Materia Setup (Stats overall). ex: G-IV - Gatherer's Guerdon Materia IV (Gathering +6)
G - Gatherer's Guerdon Materia
P - Gatherer's Guile Materia
@ - Gatherer's Grasp Materia
(red) - overmelds
Also for general reminder, can't meld grade 4 materia on gears below level 50. Just warning in case someone went overboard with it. lol
Main tools - Foragers i70
Off tools - G-IV (for reaching min requirement of 2* mats gathering)
Head - Foragers i70
Body - P-IV G-IV G-III @-I
Hand - G-III P-II G-I @-I
Legs - G-IV @-IV P-I
Feet - P-IV @-IV G-I
Belt - @-III G-I P-I @-I
Neck - @-III @-II @-II G-I P-I
Ears - @-III @-II @-II G-I P-I
Bracelets - @-IV G-II P-II @-II @-I
Ring - @-III G-I P-I @-I
Note that you don't have to follow same melding plan as I do. Just check market and plan your melding from there.
Hope that helps and I do encourage others for supplying their own melding setups. ^^
My general rule for meldings (not to be taken as only rule, merely suggestions):
- Always start from higher tier. The further you overmeld, higher tier will tax greatly on your success rate while lower tier will ease them.
- Always check market board 1st. Generally you want to invest your first melds on something that's more expensive than the latter.
- For extra notes: if you plan to farm through spiritbonding, also take notes of which materia stat commonly produced against the rarer ones. Based on those, you would also wanted to meld hard-to-get first. Usually market prices will reflect these outcomes.
