Which server is right for me?

I'm sifting through the forums (and Google for some reason) trying to figure out which server would be the best fit for me. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything that really sticks out to me saying "Hey, play on this server". I was hoping the community would be able to shed a bit more light on which server fits my play style best. Don't mind my player data there, it's old and will be replaced by whatever world I select this time around.

• I prefer to play at night (EST) between 7pm and 1am
• I prefer to have a guild to talk to while questing/whatever
• I've been out of the loop since before this was ARR, so I'm in need of assistance learning things again
• While I don't mind having to solo things I prefer to have a group at my side
• I favor PvE over PvP, but still enjoy a good fight with players
• Roleplay is not something I'm interested in (if a server exists for that)
• I don't need a full server, but an empty one isn't good either

Well, a good idea might be to browse the server forums and see if you can find a linkshell or Free Company that is recruiting that suits your requirements - and then simply choose your server from there. FFXIV's servers are only based out of two data centres by the way - Tokyo, Japan (JP server group) and Montreal Canada (NA/EU server group).

As you said you don't like roleplay though, it might be best to avoid Balmung and Gilgamesh, as they're the two 'unofficial' roleplay servers from what I understand. But if you're after a server that has people active at the times you play, I presume one of the NA/EU servers might be best for you.
