Okay, so I'm getting that error

I've:

Run the config after deleting and putting back the game.exe
Run it in admin mode
Gotten rid of the hardware mouse fix
Put back the mouse fix

And every combination of those 4.

So, why did this patch break my game? Anyone know a way around this? Or should I finally just give up on this game?
