Sentinel and the new SP system

With patch 1.18 out and its myriad of changes, one thing has really came to my attention: how are we supposed to realistically raise up our shield skill? Since SP from leves now awards based on completion and only to the "main" class, Sentinel no longer receives any SP, and any it does is piddling compared to the rewards from completion. For the people who just grind it out, it's probably reasonable since they won't notice much difference, however for those who solo this would likely become an issue.

You make a good point. Was doing some leves on GLA and recall no reward for completing the leve for shield.

this is probably a bug, but until it's fixed, I suggest doing some grinds to raise your skill (not that anyone really uses their shield skills...which is a shame..)

There are Sentinel skills? I just have it on my THM/CON so I don't melt in solo...

On a related note, can we see a higher enmity generation from these skills when used by GLA? Maybe have it as a side effect of Ambidexterity? Half the time after I pop Aegis Boon it's wasted because someone just blasted past the threat line and all my other abilities are on cooldown.

This, because atm, DD's are overtaking everything just like in FF11. The idea of tanking shouldn't just be dealing damage.

Deflection is probably the most amazing tanking skill Gladiators have access to, and Aegis Boon II is a close second. I use them religiously on CD. I've yet to run into people who don't utilize them.

Like I said as an argument to "yay no cure spam anymore" -

I don't know what kind of dumb-asses you people play with, but find people who know how to fill their role in a party. Just cause the game (was) easy doesn't mean you should surround yourself with people who can't play for beans.
