That is exactly what an mmo is. It's a grind to level and then the endgame stuff. Getting good gear, raids on hard etc. Pvp a bit (although i havent tried it yet) I got to say this does feel a bit more story mode like then regular mmo's so if you dont like this then Mmo's is probably not for you.

That might be the case, but why almost every MMO has to be desinged like this? These games have huge beautifully created worlds, but yet the actual content so shallow and progression is so linear. It's totally backwards and simply waste of pontential to be honest.

What would you suggest for extra content? The thing i enjoy is getting good gear, beating hard instances and look good, help new players and wander around and look at the envioroment.
And Pvp but haven't tried it yet so ye :/

Getting into dungeons, beat it and get good gear, to tackle the next 'harder' dungeons, rince and repeat, fun for a while, gets redundant.

Quest - Main and secondary, sometimes it's hard for developers to come with new ideas.

So yes, MMO's are beautiful, but the concept turns around Questing, getting loot, learn new skills with cooler animation as you lvl up, trying to get a good group along the journey, which is intented to be neverending, so they can milk you out of your money, or free with cash shops.

Trying to make a neverending story with new content, is a humongous task.

Every 3 month for FFXIV they give us new content, that hardcore will beat in a flash, and then complain it's repetitive and boring.

To those who spend 2-3 hours max per day, there should be plenty enough for you to do until next patch, so there is always fresh content.

I agree killing 10 rats, and being a Fedex is boring. ^^

Ninja Job is coming, I am excited, not doing the same Fates and Dungeons to get him to lvl 50, but about the skills and how he'll have it's place among 4 and 8-man groups ^^

The rest for me now is meh. I'm doing my dailies everyday, getting mythology tomes, to finish my relic weapon animus, as it's one of the few 'quest' that remains.

OP - as other stated, stick with an FC that even if they are all 50, they are eager to help you. In the end, you'll be 50 as well, a nice addition to their FC and team, depending of your skills and what you like (even if you only do crafting, you can help and be part of us ^^)

    Welcome to Eorzea!

I think you are not enjoying the game. Maybe you have a different gaming taste.

As for me, 1st day I played someone invited me to a FC. And this FC answers all my questions, we chat together to feel that we are connected and even helped me in my dungeon quests.
Im new to this game and now loving it every quests and levels. You will be very busy in-game, I don't find it boring and if you got bored just rest haha! There are lots of things/achievements you can have.

If you got disappointed or bored, maybe you need a break.

Hi Artoirel, it seem that HONK could be right, if you don't really enjoy discovering new locations and doing the fetch and carry missions maybe this game is not for you mate!

I can echo the OPs disappointment so far, but I've played FFXI and thought this game would be surefire.. my renewal after trial is really in question right now.

My number one complaint is the de-emphasis on exploration compared to FFXI. Everything feels pre-planned with little room to get lost/accidentally killed in areas you're not supposed to be in. Not even the airships are the same, unless I'm missing something. It's just a short cutscene now.. no mingling with people and catching the ship on schedule like it's a living, breathing metro system.

My number two complaint is that the game does not feel very social. Despite having a couple real life friends playing, social connections don't really seem encouraged. People want to invite me into Free Companies left and right, but they are unreceptive to my smalltalk. I want to chat about things other than the game and joke around. Maybe that fun FC is still out there :/

It's not what I expected either, but it's still very early.
