I also this this is incredibly abusive. Asking for someone to be banned because they wanted to finish content faster is extreme. RMT, hacking, exploiting - ban all day. But wanting to skip cutscenes they have already seen and leaving you behind? AND THEN to ask for them to be named and shamed? Talk about a great way to drop that 1.8 million players back to 250k that XI barely got to. Let's see you even GET a DF party on a dps after that.

I'm of the mind that the OP wouldn't have been kicked if he hadn't been a vocal tool about his CS watching. I remember my first time ever in the Praetorium. I got left behind because I didn't know the dungeon.. at all. You know what happened? Absolutely nothing. No one said a word, no one initiated a kick - they just went ahead and did the dungeon and I finally caught up at Gaius. It just wasn't that big a deal. Folks are locked out of fights all the time and the rest of the overgeared, overexperienced players muscle through it.

Next time just don't be such a loudmouth about it and you won't get kicked.

And the people for speed runs can use Party Finder to find a speed run group.

If the player is new to a story mission it should be common courtesy to let them watch the cutscenes by default that what we lack in this community common courtesy to new players it all about me me me.

I always skip and watch later, but you're totally allowed to watch the cutscenes in context if you want.
Otherwise it's an abuse of the votekick system. I advise talking about it with your group before starting to avoid confusion.

I'll give you the advice I was given by a GM. When the Duty commences ask everyone whether they're okay with you watching all of the cutscenes or whether they plan on blasting through in the quickest time possible and then decide on whether you will remain with that alliance.

If you don't want to then ask them to kick you or force a disconnect, thereby circumventing the current system. If you ask them in chat to kick you then the GM will see that if they're concerned about abuse of the vote kick feature.

Have to agree with this. My guess (and just a guess) is that the Op watched the first cs, and when he got done and realized he missed a fight, got either mouthy or decided to be a dick and sit in cutscenes for the rest of the run purposely.

There's almost always more to these whining "they hurt my feelings and kicked me" threads...

Not ALL of the cutscenes are available in the Inn through the Book. Theres a few of them that you cant see without being in the instance. And as far as the OP wanting to take his time and watch them, I say let him. MOST people so out gear the Story Raids that 1 person missing from a boss fight wont effect it at all. Let the dude watch his eye candy and pull the boss IMO.

In the Prethorium, all cut scenes combined take 55 minutes. How do I know this? I watched every single one in my Inn Room again. 13 cut scenes, apart from the boss pre and post cut scenes (not including Ultima) they take 5 minutes+ to watch, the longest one being the monologue ones of Gaius and Nero .

I can understand, that first timers want to watch the cs. But it is rude to expect that 7/8 players wait for the single one watching the cut scenes, it is also rude to expect the first timer to quit every single cutscene.

To those saying "deal with it that I want to watch" can be said "deal with it when the majority of the group agrees with removing the single one slowing them down"


I don't do story roulette anymore, because I do roulette for the tomes and want to get it over with and not waiting endlessly for new people watching "movies".

It would be nice to split "normal" main story duties from "roulette" main story duties. But I guess some might never be able to finish the story this way.


I finished this long time ago, but I watched the cs just yesterday because I had the time. Back than I did not want to make all those people going out of their way to help me to sit around and twiddle their thumbs. Back than there was no duty finder for Prethorium.

Oh and yes you can see ALL of them, just some are within "duties" others are within "quests" that are connected with the duty. Yes I checked that

You can do Prae with 4 people. Anyone who whines about people watching custscenes should just quit doing that oulette. Why are they even doing it for myth lmao. If you want to speedrun go run Brayflox.
