I saw the original quote in the original thread. Basically he was saying the group should discuss before they begin, what they want. If the majority of the group wants to speed run and wants everyone to skip cut scenes, then the cut scene people can opt out and leave the group. It comes down to discussing before the dungeon begins. But most pickups from roulette, don't even bother talking other than saying hi at the beginning and thanks for the group at the end. So when they boot someone before the end boss, with no discussion before the dungeon began, they have no leg to stand on for griefing like that.

I can pretty much guaran-godsdamn-tee if the healer(s) or tank(s) left, you'll be sitting on your ass for awhile. If they leave, you're best bet to to leave and requeue because you'll be waiting for a rep of those 2 jobs for awhile. And the point of SRs is to "GOTTA GO FAST". Sitting on your butts waiting for the rarest roles to refill the party is the opposite of a SR. So...I laugh at your logic, or lack thereof.

I would either, if on MNK, leave and reque in progress as tank or healer depending whats needed. Or give a shout out to FC or LSs, 2 mins later, will be rocking again

It should be noted that the kick system is democracy based. Meaning if you are kicked, it is because the majority voted you out. To voice against the kick system is to voice against democracy itself. There have been plenty of people in history that have tried to circumvent the will of the majority for their own selfish gains and they all ended up with the well deserved title of "dictator." It is for this reason why the OP makes me so angry.

As bad as you think a kick is, I guarantee it's not as bad as a ban from someone going on some lame conquest to force their will onto others whether it be in the game or on these forums. The mature thing to do if your are kicked (regardless if it was justified or not) is to just find something new to do. Queue up for a new duty, beast tribe quests, PvP, craft, gather, chat with friends...the list goes on and on.

uh.. there's a limit to your "Democracy". Guess I need to repaste this:

There are 4 categories when vote kicking someone:
AFK - This person is actually NOT at the keyboard. They had left the room and for an extended amount of time, usually these people will still be at the dungeons entrance right from the start.
Offline - Something must of happened, they lost the internet, power, whatever, but it is obvious they aren't coming back
Harassment - The person is insulting another member(s) of the group by name calling, or trying to wipe the group by pulling more mobs on purpose than the group can reasonably handle.
Cheating - Someone is using hacks or a known exploit.

Your "democracy" basically is kicking completely innocent people at the end of the dungeon just to keep them from completing the mains story quest. They only use cut scenes as a poor excuse to grief. And attributing real world democracy into the vote kick, and labeling people complaining about injustice as being dictators, is stepping way way over the line. It's more like this scenario:

You goto the theater to watch the new hit movie. You pay $15 to get in, you got your popcorn, your drink, and you are enjoying the movie. But then a person in front of you tells you you must shut your eyes and only listen to the movie not watch it. You decline because you've paid money to experience the movie. That person then gets his buddies to grab you and throw you out of the theater room because you wont shut your eyes.

Under this scenario you were wronged. You have every right to complain. Especially if you don't know them people, and they never said anything up until halfway through the movie, and even then, it was only 1 guy trying to tell you how to enjoy the movie you paid good money to watch. When people boot people, just because they watched the cut scenes, and they wait till the very end boss to do the vote kick, it's not that they hate cutscene viewers. It's that they want to grief a new person who is trying to enjoy the story of the main story dungeon. It is griefing, it is injustice, and people have a right to complain about being wronged even in a democracy.

SE, the people that make the game and decide the rules, disagree. Not only do they let us skip cutscenes, they gave us an option to auto skip them, and an option for people that want to watch cutscenes to form their own party for that, and that one isn't in duty finder, it's in the party finder.

How do you autoskip? I was thinking it would be so useful to have it

Well yeah, it kinda is. Majority rules. Nobody said democracy is perfect though. Hitler did came into power through the majority of votes after all.

But most often than not, majority ruling has proved to be better than the opposite of it. We might have some unpleasant situations like the example you brought but no system is perfect. Is more about which is better overall.

System Menu -> Character Configuration -> General Tab -> You should see the option there to auto skip cutscenes you have already watched.

There are some CSes that you can't skip, like the Beastyman main quest CSes. Dunno why. Guess SE really wants you to see those beastyman CSes lol.
