I'm talking about a 4 man party, the 8 man parties are more forgiving. Most you can do with 1 healer or 1 tank. People do Titan HM with 1 tank, 1 healer, and 6 DPS. But thanks for commenting my my lack of reading skills, nice touch.
Yes, adding in the (s) to the end of tank and healer of course means you were talking about 4 man parties, because I hate it when both my tanks leave in Halatali, not to mention this whole thread is about the skipping of cutscenes in the 8 man story dungeons.
You are no more right than the OP is.
That being said... I side with the OP.
It is unreasonable and downright selfish to ruin someones story run because you want to be done with a run 5-10min faster.
If you're after myth then you're in the wrong place to begin with.
You don't frequently get newbies who want to experience the cut scenes every run.
Nor do you frequently get experienced players who want to watch cut scenes every run.
The few times that you do get those players shouldn't be an issue.
As someone who has run CM and Prae dozens of times, I never feel as if these people are holding the raid up. If someone is in a CS, I will grab a drink or chat with the pt/ls/fc. Not a big deal.
This is an FF game. The focus is on the storyline experience. Don't cheapen it for others who want to enjoy it.
There are only two storyline dungeons in this game.
Your kind can compromise and let newbie players (or those wanting to experience the storyline) watch the CS in those *two* dungeons.
Regardless of the arguments, if someone is new to the dungeon, and is there for the story, the group should respect that player's right to view the cut scenes. And hey, if the newbie who gets vote kicked happened to be a healer, like I said, the group's "Speed Run" would come to an end, because I'd leave immediately but not before telling the group that they were wrong for abusing the vote kick and wont heal a group that behaves like that, then leave myself. I've got standards, and I refuse to play with people who can't play nice.
I've never actually experienced people vote-kicking someoneThe group just moves on and leaves them behind.
I would vote kick someone for excessive time spent in cutscenes if I didn't think they were a first timer. For instance if they've got a primal weapon or higher, then they have to have done the instance before. I would assume they're not actually watching the cutscenes, but are trying to mask their AFK behavior and get carried through the instance.
Seems to me that anyone that disagrees with you throws you for a loop. You have your opinion, that's cool, but no need to get all nasty about it. You are passionate about your opinion, good. So are the other people. This thread has dragged on so much I get confuzzled sometimes.
We should all be nice to each other, really. Since you don't like people watching CSes, may I offer a solution? Either don't do story roulette, if if you are so set on it, go with your FC and friends. That way y'all know it's a speedrun. You don't HAVE to do Story mode roulette you know. Unless you are OCD and just have that urge to complete every roulette every day.
Really I feel vote kicking people for watching the CS, is obnoxious and regardless of what SE said, I'd consider it an abuse of the vote kick system. Here's why:
There are 4 categories when vote kicking someone:
AFK - This person is actually NOT at the keyboard. They had left the room and for an extended amount of time, usually these people will still be at the dungeons entrance right from the start.
Offline - Something must of happened, they lost the internet, power, whatever, but it is obvious they aren't coming back
Harassment - The person is insulting another member(s) of the group by name calling, or trying to wipe the group by pulling more mobs on purpose than the group can reasonably handle.
Cheating - Someone is using hacks or a known exploit.
There is no category for viewing cut scenes, because they are actually part of the dungeon. And really these story dungeons can be completed with 4 people, 1 tank, 1 healer and 2 dps. So half the group can watch the cutscenes, and not slow the group down one bit. So if 1 out of 8 people are watching a cutscene, why does it bother you? If they are making an effort to keep up with the group and stop only when a cutscene happens, then they are not afk, and there is 0 excuse for vote kicking someone. And from the sound of it, a lot of these vote kicks are happening when the group reaches the end boss, which means the cutscene viewer, wasn't slowing the group down.
You know what that says? It says the person who started the vote kick, and those who voted with them, vote kicked an innocent player, just to keep them from finishing their story quest. That right there, is harassment in the form of griefing. There is no excuse for vote kicking a new player for watching the cutscenes, if they are present, and are moving along the map between cut scenes trying to catch up to the group. The ones who are doing this, are nothing more than griefers.

Is posting stuff like this how you suggest we be nice to each other? We should all be nice to each other, really. Since you don't like people watching CSes, may I offer a solution? Either don't do story roulette, if if you are so set on it, go with your FC and friends. That way y'all know it's a speedrun. You don't HAVE to do Story mode roulette you know. You told me I was wrong when later you say you were talking about something else (I don't believe that), and you didn't do it in a very nice way, not only cussing, but also insulting my "lack of logic." So you don't have much room on that "let's all be nice" ground you are talking about. Also you can't do story roulette in a group, I am sure once you see this you will say you were confuzzled or something again, I do it for the 100 mythology, and if I feel like tanking the gil bonus, the reward is there to get people like me to run those story dungeons, so new people don't have to wait for hours to try to get a party to get it done.I can pretty much guaran-godsdamn-tee if the healer(s) or tank(s) left, you'll be sitting on your ass for awhile. If they leave, you're best bet to to leave and requeue because you'll be waiting for a rep of those 2 jobs for awhile. And the point of SRs is to "GOTTA GO FAST". Sitting on your butts waiting for the rarest roles to refill the party is the opposite of a SR. So...I laugh at your logic, or lack thereof.
That famous quote I always seen from player's posts, and no one had linked to original one, to me is an hoax.
Link to the ORIGINAL post and make me wrong. If ever exists, I'd like to see the full context of the thread it is in.
