Could be worse. You could be a PS3 player and be kicked because taking a few seconds longer to skip cutscenes due to the PS3 load times gives the fact that you're on PS3 away to the PC elitists.
I've seen it happen.

Nothing needs to be changed. On your first time running these dungeons you have two options: either watch the cutscenes while your party clears content or skip cutscenes and watch them later. I chose to skip my first time and watch later because I play as a tank and wanted to understand the instances. No regrets. Now as an experienced player if someone wants to watch cutscenes that's perfectly fine; it's not as though 4 geared players will have trouble with the fights. If people vote to kick someone who is watching cutscenes that is pretty pathetic because a fresh 50 will hardly contribute to clearing or not anyway. You are going to run these more than once anyway so you will have plenty of chances to watch cutscenes and see the content; it's not like this is a one time experience.
The only way for SE to fix the "cut scene" issue is for the. To enforce either everyone watches them or no one does. This isn't going to happen.
Honestly when queued through DR and there is a new player in the dungeon the game should force all cut-scenes in dungeons to flag as non-skippable and give an increased tome reward calculated on the total amount time that the CS' add up to as a bonus at the end to anyone who got it as their roulette, pre-made DF groups do not apply and can skip at will.
The tomes are a reward for helping people. Now people feel entitled to the original reward and want an additional reward to help people.
No, the reward is there for helping people. If it's not worth it or you've completely lost sight of gaming for fun, then SR brayflox.
Also, if your attitude is that you can 4 man the 8 man roulettes so you don't care if people watch the cutscenes and are locked out of fights, learn how to game. If you get a noob, have fun with them. I like to tell noobs that the fights only get harder and harder, that we're all gonna die after Ultima's second phase. Don't be boring and miss out on fun by focusing so much on tomes per minute.
Amen, anyone queuing for any roulette pre-50 should go in knowing full well it's not a speed run and that it is actually a larger possibility of it being a run to help some new players. Remember that and stop being so prissy over tomes. FFXI players and FFXIV are whiny babies sometimes after surfing these forums for a day.
Just had to point that out.
I agree and sympathize, but unfortunately almost everyone I've come across tolerates this behavior because they say "I just want to get this done." People enabling this behavior is exactly why it persists.
Lol, I read a lot of "You're lucky to even get a party for story runs" and "You should appreciate the 7 other people carrying you".
YOU are in the party for Myth, not out of the kindness of your heart. Speed runners aren't doing first timers any favors, they just want it to be done, screw the new guy.
It's simple: you don't want someone watching CS, don't do story mode. If you DO decide to do STORY, and someone wants to watch the STORY, that's the whole reason for roulette. It's not for the guy who completed it, it's for the guy who hasn't. Your REWARD for "enduring" first timers is the bonuses and Myth. If it wasn't for the new
guy, there wouldn't even be roulette for the bonuses.Lol, I read a lot of "You're lucky to even get a party for story runs" and "You should appreciate the 7 other people carrying you".

(On my phone can't edit)
In any roulette, 90% of the people doing it will be speed running. First timers are actually the minority. And with randoms, majority rules.Amen, anyone queuing for any roulette pre-50 should go in knowing full well it's not a speed run and that it is actually a larger possibility of it being a run to help some new players.
