What I don't get is... why is everyone in such a hurry?! Why all the rushing and no patience? Is there a cat stuck up a tree somewhere and you have to rescue it? Did you put a pie in the oven, and it's starting to burn? Are you dying for the loo? :P I can understand if you've got a job and got limited time to play, it just feels like the prevalent mindset in this game (noticed it in a few other mmos I've played as well) is hurry, hurry, hurry, rush, rush, rush to do everything in the smallest time possible... As for cutscenes, I blame Square as well, not good design. It's not fair to be made to skip cutscenes, but it's not fair either to be forced to watch them!

Because the people doing this for tomes need a LOT of tomes. Again, goes back to SE to blame for design, not just for the necessary evil involved in giving veterans an incentive for helping but the relic systems that rely so, so much on the tomes given for doing so.

Edit: To be clear, I don't think SE did the wrong thing in the roulette design; being asked or even harassed into skipping cutscenes is really a minor thing compared to what was happening even before roulettes and would've been much worse now; it being hard to get a party together to even do them.

Edit: I hear what you're saying about the roulette, I still feel that the story mode aspect should have been kept separate from it though.... or some other kind of system worked in so people can farm their tomes, and people can watch their cutscenes... and everyone wins lol without the clashing of heads!

First of all you have MANY ways to get tomes but you intentionally not mention that. For myth you can do Brayflox hard mode since that is the best way to do it. You have got literally a shit-ton of stuff to do to collect tomes of myth + a bit of soldiers and yet it is too much to ask for the "ending" to be played as an "ending" and not as a speedrun.

But honestly, people who queu for "Story Roulette" should expect to have people who want to watch CS. If they just want to farm myth, there are better places for it. The few times I did that roulette I had zero issue with people watching CS. I went in knowing there will be first timers.

I am entering The Praetorium for the first time and I am starting to watch my cutscenes. One person states "Please do not watch the cutscenes". I ignore him. Then towards the end I get kicked out because I am still watching my cutscenes. I am a paying customer and I will not be forced to skip my paying content period.

Because you said nothing, they probably assumed you were a troll. Had you simply asked politely to be allowed to watch the cutscenes instead of saying nothing, they probably would not have kicked you.

I agree for STORY modes new players shouldn't be able to be kicked the first time. But since you've opened another thread asking for the EXACT SAME THING I have to wonder what your real motive is?

I wished they removed the main scenario roulette, then you can happily watch all your cutscenes, after entering in CM/Prae after a 4 hour queue. You guys are seriously asking for this. No more a silly desire than wishing to speed rush through it. Agreed that majority sets the pace, but kicking for watching cut scenes isn't silly, it's ridiculous.

Seems I'll edit this since I've reach my daily posting limit. No Gallus there is not a huge difference it's actually rather small, despite you wishing there were otherwise. You can choose to sit 20m while they watch the cutscenes or continue on with the dungeon. You aren't reduced to a dead stop because of it. If you are then you are sadly in the minority for that specific group.

New people who are excited but inexperienced are actually fun to play with. Stop grinding and start playing.

If the community devolves and drives away new players with toxic attitudes, FFXIV will go downhill in a big way. It's already become much more grindy with the relic weapons. Eventually all that's going to be left is a small community of diehard grinders who will grind any content, no matter how boring, or how little money SE has to put into it.

Have fun with the people who are here, help them enjoy their first time in story content, keep the community large, and let all those people help pay for new and interesting content.
