its also great for spiritbonding and the adventure in need bonus gil tacked onto the regular gil from dungeons makes them pretty profitable.
not worth spending a half an hour stuck in cut scenes tho
You have to get 1500 myth for each book. And then 800 x 37+ to get alexandrites. I know there are people that can do that over and over, but I cannot. After about 10, I need a break. I like variety. Plus while I was waiting for a main scenario DF, I got 2 alexandrites doing FATES. So actually, that was the fastest 1600 myth ever for me.
Yes. I speedrun Brayflox for hours and hours and hours. When I need a break but still want to make a little bit of Myth I'll sometimes "play" the roulette. I don't do the Main Scenario one every day though.
May I suggest a simple compromise to better the system?
Only those who have not completed Castrum or Praetorium ever will have vote kick immunity. So they can watch cutscenes and stumble along fights in peace. The other 7 can do whatever they want (aim for world speed record or wait for them).
I believe chances of meeting 2 new players of a crucial class (tanks and healers) who can't pull their weight or trolling in a single group is slim nowadays as this game is heading for its one-year birthday. I'm also quite sure an ilvl90+ duo of a healer plus something can down these 2 dungeons.
I still remember my first Praetorium. Through Duty Finder against Ultima Weapon part 1, 5 minutes into the fight with nobody dead and we were still in garuda phase, both healers' and bard's MP were 2 digits and most of us thought we're done, just die off then leave to gear up or something. Then Haedaelyn showed up and we're like 'Yeah, we actually have a shot at this. Let's do it!' Shame that new players will never experience this. If only SE has the balls to make Praetorium and maybe Castrum ilvl45 sync, skills normal.

If you have a full group with a high item level it is faster yes.

What is sad, if even who kicks me gets punished, my experience of the first run of the duty has been ruined anyway. More when the duty is in the storyline.
You can watch all your cut scenes first time in a story dungeon. You can watch all your cutscenes again in your Inn room.
You need to understand that many people are doing The Praetorium as part of their dailies. They have already seen the cutscenes and want to get through the encounter. None of these people want to wait 10 minutes for you to watch cutscenes.
The problem isn't with players, it's with the developers. The penultimate storyline cutscenes shouldn't be taking place in the dungeons.
Right now you are mad about people skipping cutscenes. You won't be when the tables are reversed, and you are running that dungeon for the 100th time and some guy is holding the entire raid up to watch an airship fall out of the sky, or watch the MagiTek armour do its R2D2 impression.
You need to understand that some people are doing The Praetorium for the first time. They have not seen the cut scenes.
See whut I did thar?
He pays a monthly sub to, whether you like it or not he has a right to enjoy the content as long as he's not breaking anything in the ToS. Someone abusing the VK system however...
I'd be all for a system like this, maybe it would teach some people patience.. albeit that's a snowballs long shot in hell.I am entering The Praetorium for the first time and I am starting to watch my cutscenes. One person states "Please do not watch the cutscenes". I ignore him. Then towards the end I get kicked out because I am still watching my cutscenes. I am a paying customer and I will not be forced to skip my paying content period.
This is unbelievable. Cutscenes in total take an extra 5m-10m maximum and that is not even worth an argument but I am making it in case someone argues back at how long they are but even that is still irrelevant.
Then guess what? I managed to see all cutscenes but in everything we do, and especially in MMOs there is a trade-off so as you can tell a missed a couple of boss fights. And before you make the argument of seeing it afterwards, don't even bother. I am not going to experience a game or any game in small proportions. It ruins everything.
So what is the solution? Simple. Implement a tool where there is a time-limit on watching a cutscene on average for first timers only. Disallow boss fights to start when a first-timer is watching cut scenes. No one should be forced to skip a content.
When you let fate decide your type of group you either accept the randomization or you don't. In random groups you can get good players, bad players, impolite and impatient players. You get all walks of life because that is randomization; everything is a chance. If you want to do something such as a speed run or whatever run you feel like it like EXP run(s) then obviously make your own group with your own conditions.
Good luck, you won't have people in queue then. I'm going to run Praetorium tonight for the first time. I will be happily skipping all the cutscenes and then watching them in the inn, because I like not having hours long queues. If any of you first time must watch cs people get your way you will have 6 hour + waits for the dungeons. At that point there is not a new player in their right mind that will continue with the game.

As long as SE dangles a currency at the end of the line that can yield gear improvements, I HIGHLY doubt what you claim will actually happen. For you it might be true, certainly not everyone like you think.

I think it's from experience with Camp Westwind. When that was not in DR, queues were in excess of several hours from old posts on the forum. As you said, if they took the currency out (from the DR), there would no reason other than kindness for those who have already done the story to go back. I could see a situation happening where if CM / Prae were removed from DR, the queues would skyrocket.
