Let me say it again: Main Scenario is not for speedrunning. It is not for quick myth, and it is not something you NEED to do. The reward is so high because you're helping new players, but right now players are bypassing the purpose of the system at the expense of the very people it is designed to help. I'm not sure if this is a problem exclusive to the NA community, but it really needs to be addressed. Punishing players that do this after-the-fact is nice, but this actually needs to be prevented in some way as well. Every time it happens, it sours the endgame experience of a new player, and they might even quit because of it.

If it wasn't for speed running or quick myth, not many people would do it. It would be like cape westwind used to be before it was added to the trials roulette. New players would have to sit in queues and/or spam shouts in major cities/mor dohna for hours to get a group. Now it's much more convenient.

You don't *have* to use the DF to complete the story mode. You can form your own group so that you can watch all the cutscenes if it's really important to you. Convenience comes with a cost, and that cost is you're likely to get a group that doesn't want to wait for you to watch them. I, personally, don't mind that much waiting for new players to watch the cutscenes since it's not really all that frequent. But I understand others who are less patient.

Honestly, even if someone takes it upon themselves to watch every cs from start to finish, most times the rest of the group doesn't really care. They just keep going without saying a word. If it's agreed upon to wait on them I'm ok with that. If it's the general consensus to just speed through then...well, majority rules. I just find myself sympathizing with new players is all which are affected negatively by this. Like someone else has said though, there's no real right or wrong answer to this debate.

Wouldn't it be faster to just do a few Brayflox Hard runs than do CM or Pra which is super long?

You need to understand that many people are doing The Praetorium as part of their dailies. They have already seen the cutscenes and want to get through the encounter. None of these people want to wait 10 minutes for you to watch cutscenes.

The problem isn't with players, it's with the developers. The penultimate storyline cutscenes shouldn't be taking place in the dungeons.

Right now you are mad about people skipping cutscenes. You won't be when the tables are reversed, and you are running that dungeon for the 100th time and some guy is holding the entire raid up to watch an airship fall out of the sky, or watch the MagiTek armour do its R2D2 impression.

You should know that people did that even before the dailies when we were running it to get 100 tomes to get DL gear , that is NOT an excuse and it will never be !!I have been forced to skipp scenes in the past for farming so now new players should do the same so the old same players do their dailies fast ?! Thats not fair .
Watching CSs in the inn rooms is less fun then watching them in the raid , so if you think you cant let a newer who want simply enjoy the game that he is paying for , then I suggest whoever to leave it and get replaced by someone who can .

The purpose for having the main scenario on DR with a myth bonus is to get people to run it. That is all. There is no reason not to speed run anything in this game if it can be done. And really, that is not the issue of the OP anyway. The OP's issue was getting kicked while watching a cutscene. A group could speed run the whole dungeon without him while he watches cutscenes.

He pays a monthly sub to, whether you like it or not he has a right to enjoy the content as long as he's not breaking anything in the ToS. Someone abusing the VK system however...

I am entering The Praetorium for the first time and I am starting to watch my cutscenes. One person states "Please do not watch the cutscenes". I ignore him. Then towards the end I get kicked out because I am still watching my cutscenes. I am a paying customer and I will not be forced to skip my paying content period.

This is unbelievable. Cutscenes in total take an extra 5m-10m maximum and that is not even worth an argument but I am making it in case someone argues back at how long they are but even that is still irrelevant.

Then guess what? I managed to see all cutscenes but in everything we do, and especially in MMOs there is a trade-off so as you can tell a missed a couple of boss fights.And before you make the argument of seeing it afterwards, don't even bother. I am not going to experience a game or any game in small proportions. It ruins everything.

So what is the solution? Simple. Implement a tool where there is a time-limit on watching a cutscene on average for first timers only. Disallow boss fights to start when a first-timer is watching cut scenes. No one should be forced to skip a content.

When you let fate decide your type of group you either accept the randomization or you don't. In random groups you can get good players, bad players, impolite and impatient players. You get all walks of life because that is randomization; everything is a chance. If you want to do something such as a speed run or whatever run you feel like it like EXP run(s) then obviously make your own group with your own conditions.

I'd be all for a system like this, maybe it would teach some people patience.. albeit that's a snowballs long shot in hell.

its also great for spiritbonding and the adventure in need bonus gil tacked onto the regular gil from dungeons makes them pretty profitable.

not worth spending a half an hour stuck in cut scenes tho
